Angels and Demons I-1A.

AN ABANDONED LOS ANGELES HOTEL:
6:30P.M.

"Wesley, do you ever take your head out of those books?" Cordelia asked
as she looked at the man sitting with his face in the big, old, red
book.

"Do you ever miss a sale?" He shot back.

"Why…" Cordelia looked like she was about to blow a fuse.

"Now, children we don't need any fights." Angel said as he walked down
the stairs.

"It's about time you got up." Cordelia said turning to look at him.

"Why? This is the time I usually get up." He walked over to the
computer. "Any problems?"

"Apart from Wesley looking for me to kill him. None." She came over and
got some coffee. "If you ask me it's been too quiet. It's been three
days and nothing. You know how the demons populate LA but nothing."

"Well, don't get too comfortable, something will come up, it always
does." Angel stretched out on the couch.

Cordy started to sway on her feet, squinting. "Ah, guys."

"Like now!" Angel leaped off the couch and held Cordy up, walking her
slowly back to the couch when the vision hits her. She slams her head
back against his shoulder.

When it started to subside she leant away from Angel. "What was it?"
Wesley asked, getting his pad and pen ready.

"I don't know. It wasn't any demons just a guy walking on Willow
Street. Dressed in black, tall, quite good looking. But he didn't seem
to be in trouble, he just felt lost." Cordy said as she walked around
slowly.

"Angel?"

"I don't know, I should go and get him, just in case it's an early
warning that this guy needs help but just not yet."

"Wesley and I'll go, you can't because the suns still up and he's in
it." Cordy and Wesley walked to the door, getting their coats and the
keys to Angel's car.

"Guys, be careful you don't know when this guy will need help or if he
even needs help. He could be a walking time bomb."

"Look who's talking, the guy who if he goes bad could kill the whole
human race." They left.

BLUE COVE:
THE CENTRE:
PARKER'S OFFICE:
SAME TIME.

Parker was standing at the window looking outside when Mr Parker walked
in. "Angel?"

She slowly turned around and looked at him. "What do you want Daddy?"

He walked over and sat on the corner of her desk. "Is there anything
wrong Honey? You don't seem to be yourself."

"I don't know anymore." She returned her gaze out the window.

"Has there been any word on Jarod?"

"No, not since Denver." She leant against the wall.

"You're probably just restless. You're used to going out a lot but
you've been stuck here for 2 weeks with no hit on Jarod. You were the
same when you were little. You'd get restless very easily." He laughed
gently. A small smile played on her lips. "Don't worry Honey, you'll
get something soon."

Broots ran in with some papers. "Miss…Sorry, I'll come back later." He
turned back to the door when he saw Mr Parker in there with her.

"It's all right Broots, Daddy was just leaving." She turned round and
faced him.

"This could the hit you've been waiting for. Goodbye Angel." He kissed
her cheek and walked out.

"What is it Broots?" She snapped.

"I've got two possible hits."

"What do you mean TWO?" She growled. "Don't tell me Rat Boy has a
twin!"

"No, nothing like that. There are just two different places where he
could be. There's a big investigation in New York and a weird chain of
events in Los Angeles. We know how much Jarod loves a mystery,
especially when there are innocent people getting hurt. And in New York
there's a detective been charged of neglect occasioning death."

"So which one?"

"These are the ones that he's attracted to, but I don't have any proof
that he's there." Broots said quickly. "I was thinking that if we send
Lyle to one place and we go to the other, we might catch him before he
even starts the pretend and gives us the slip."

"Correction! He gives you the slip. You're the one who's slow in
tracking him down. Get Lyle!"

"But what if…"

"GET LYLE!" She ordered.

"Y-yes Miss Parker." He yelped and ran out of the office. "I just hope
we pick the right place, cause if Lyle gets him first, heaven help us…"
Broots mumbled to himself.

PARKER'S OFFICE:
10 MINUTES LATER.

Lyle, Broots, Sam and Sydney walked into her office. She was up at her
desk, with her back to the door, leaning over her desk, looking at
papers. "What's up Sis?"

She turned round and glared at him. "How many times have I told you not
to call me SIS?" She hissed at him.

"Sorry, what do you want?" Lyle could tell she wasn't in a good mood so
best to tread lightly.

"We have two possible hits. I'm going to Los Angeles. You're going to
New York. Any problems?"

"None, I like New York." He smiled at her.

"Save it! Now if you miss him I'm going to beat your arse till you
can't walk for a month. Kapeche?"

"Clear as Crystal."

"Cut the wise-arsed act. It's wearing VERY, VERY thin!"

"Yes Parker." He said gently. 'She really is pissed today.'

"Sam, assemble the teams. We've got a hunt to do." She ordered as she
put on her red leather coat.

"Yes Miss Parker." He ran out of the office.

"Lyle, get your arse up to the jet."

"Can we just put our differences aside until the hunts over?" He asked
truthfully.

"Says he who tired to blow me up in a building. No!" She hissed and
walked out the door. Lyle just shook his head and followed her. Sydney
was smiling as he and Broots followed the two fighting twins.

LOS ANGELES:
WILLOW STREET:
6:40P.M.

Wesley and Cordy had been walking along Willow Street for 45 minutes
and there wasn't any sign of the man she saw in her vision. "Are you
sure you got the street right?" Wesley asked.

"I'm sure. He should be here. He was standing right at this window.
He's wearing black jeans, black shirt and a black leather jacket. He's
tall. Got dark hair and he seems lost." Cordy said pacing around.

"Cordy, he's not here. Let's just get back." Wesley started to walk to
the car. Cordy followed. Neither knew it but they were been watched.
Just as Wesley got the car, someone grabbed him from behind and held
around his neck tightly.

"Why are you following me? Who are you?"

"Cordelia get help!" Wesley whispered hoarsely.

"No, that's the guy I saw." Cordy smiled. "We were looking for you. We
won't hurt you, but could you let go of my friend?"

"Who sent you? Are you working for Miss Parker?" He asked as he
released Wesley.

"Who? We don't know who you are or who this Miss Parker is. I'm Wesley
and this if Cordelia."

"I had a vision of you and that's why we're here." Cordy smiled at him.
'He's the cutest client we've had.'

"Vision?" He asked confused.

"We'll explain everything if you'll come with us. But we don't know
your name." Wesley said.

"Jarod. Jarod Williams." He held out his hand. "Sorry about the neck
thing, but I get jumpy when people follow me."

"Is someone following you or something?" Cordy asked.

"Or something."

"We'll get all the information later but can we get back to the hotel?"

"Yeah, whatever. Do you have anywhere to stay?"

"No, not yet, I've just go into town." He ducked round the corner and
retrieved his black leather bag and the silver DSA case.

"That all you have?" Wesley asked in awe.

"Yeah, I have to travel light. I move around a lot." Jarod explained.

"Because of the person following you?"

"I think HUNTING would be a better word than following. And PEOPLE
would be better than person."

"You can tell us the whole story when we get back to the hotel. You
seem like you need a friend and I don't know why I had the vision of
you, but just to be safe we'll let Angel check you out."

Jarod panicked. He only knows ONE person called 'Angel'. "Angel?"

"Yeah, his real name is Angelus, but we call him Angel. It's a long
story but it can wait till we get back to the hotel." Wesley walked
them down to the black car. Jarod put his bags in the bag seat and got
in.

"Angel helps the helpless as well, you two will have a lot to talk
about." Cordy started the car and drove off. Jarod just sat there in
silence wondering how she knew he helps people. The trip back to the
hotel was in silence.

THE HOTEL:
20 MINUTES LATER.

Cordy walked through the lobby door and toward the front desk. "Angel!
We're back and we have him!" She yelled.

"Don't mind her, she's always that loud." Wesley said to Jarod in a
hushed tone. Jarod smiled and walked in further putting his bag and
case on the couch.

"Cordy, stop yelling!" Angel growled, coming down the stairs. "Hello.
I'm Angel. I presume you've met Cordelia and Wesley."

"I'm Jarod. Why am I here?"

"We don't know that one yet either. But if we get our stories out we
should be able to figure out something." He walked over to the couch
and saw Jarod's stuff. "Traveling light are we?"

"Yeah."

"Well firstly, I'll tell you about myself and what we do here." Angel
sat down. "Please have a seat."

"Thank you." Jarod sat down in the armchair.

"Firstly I'm a vampire. But I was put under a gypsy curse, which gave
me a soul. I don't kill anyone anymore, unless they're demons. Cordy,
Wesley and myself run a PI office on the side. Cordy has the sight,
which enables her to see where demons are and then we go in and kill
them. We haven't been in the PI business long, we're still trying to
iron out the creases that are in it." Angel explained carefully and
patiently.

"What are vampires?" Jarod asked confused.

Everyone exchanged glances. "It's pretty complicated. But I'll give it
a shot." Wesley stepped forward. "A vampire is a preternatural or
supernatural being of a reanimated corpse of a person that was created
by another vampire. The vampire breed is often called the 'undead'
since they have no pulse and they don't breath but they walk among the
living. The vampire preys on unsuspecting victims and drinks their
blood. They live as long as they don't get a stake in the heart or are
exposed to direct sunlight, for they are creatures of the night." He
explained carefully, but Jarod didn't seem to freak out.

"I think I'll have to read about them." Jarod said indifferently.

"That's OK, it's a bit difficult to explain and if someone doesn't have
a clue makes it harder but that's enough of that, tell us about
yourself and why your in LA." Cordy and Wesley sat down and prepared
themselves for a boring, long dreary story.

"OK, this might sound far fetched but it's the truth."

"You wouldn't say that if you knew what we do and see for a living."
Wesley told him.

"This organisation called The Centre stole me from my family when I was
4. They took me because I'm a pretender, I can become anyone I want to
be, pilot, police officer, fireman, anyone. They used my genius for
their own purposes. They used me for over 30 years and I escaped four
years ago. But this organisation doesn't want to let me go so they've
got Miss Parker, Sydney, Broots, Lyle and hundreds of sweepers hunting
me down like an animal. Parker and I used to be friends but her father
didn't like that so he sent her away to boarding school. When she came
back he trained her to become The Centre's greatest huntress. They
control her more than they did me. They don't know how close she has
come to catching me but I see her before she has a chance to see me and
I disappear. I don't know anything about myself, my real last name. I
change my identities like you breathe air. I help the weak and abused
and, what Parker likes to call, 'The Little people'. Anyone who can't
help themselves." Jarod stopped and took a few deep breaths. "Well?"

"I believe you but I still don't know why I had a vision of you. You're
not in trouble with anyone else but these hunter people." Cordy shook
her head to try and clear it.

"I know you only want to help me but I can't stay. The Centre will find
me and I'll be putting your lives in danger." Jarod stood up.

"We'll come to that when they find you but right now you need to stay
here with us until we can determine why we are to protect you." Angel
stood up. They were the same height.

"All right." Jarod nodded. "But if you don't mind I'll go for a walk. I
need to think some things through." He walked out the door.

"What do you think?"

"I don't know, but the PTB's told us to protect him for some reason."

"Maybe we aren't to protect him. Maybe it's just who's following him.
Maybe that's who we need to protect or something." Cordy said.

"Maybe."

"We'll find out soon enough."

FRANKLIN STREET:
9:20P.M.

Jarod was walking along the sidewalk not noticing the three people that
were at the building across the street. "Miss Parker!" Broots yelped.

"Shut up!" She hissed back. "Looky who's dragging their sorry hide down
the street. One PEEP Sydney you'll have something in common with Manny
the mute." She threatened. "WALK back and tell Sam to get the sweepers
in the van. Sydney, in the car…QUIETLY. One noise and you'll spook
him." Broots walked quickly down the street.

Parker and Sydney got silently in the car. "Parker, you know what
they'll do to him when they get him back."

"Sydney what didn't you understand about SILENCE?" She growled watching
her prized catch walking down the street, with his head lowered and
shoulders slumped. Broots got into the back seat.

"Sam's ready to move on your mark Miss Parker."

"Not yet, let him lead us back to his lair, he hasn't got the DSA case
with him. We need it." When he turned the corner Parker started the car
and followed him at a safe distance. "Tell Sam to stay put."

Broots picked up the radio. "Sam."

"Yes Mr Broots?"

"Miss Parker said stay put, we're following him."

"Tell Miss Parker 10/4."

"Sam said…"

"I heard!" She hissed, getting impatient by driving slow.

THE HOTEL:
10:10P.M.

Jarod just walked through the door. Cordelia and Wesley were at their
workstations. Cordy on the computer, Wesley in his big old books. Angel
was pacing around. "What's up?"

"Nothing, just trying to figure out something." Angel answered as he
stopped pacing and walked behind Cordy and looked at the monitor.

"Jarod, I've got some books here that you could read and get a better
understanding of vampires." Wesley said to him, indicating to the
buried desk.

"Thanks, but I've already been reading. I know a lot more now."

"How much on Angelus?" Jarod was silent. He walked over and sat down at
the books.

"Jarod?" His blood froze when he heard her voice.

"Jarod, who are they?" Cordy, Wesley and Angel all walked into the
lobby, looking at the three strangers. Angel's eyes were focused on
Parker, who was looking at Jarod.

"The Hunters…And Huntress." Jarod said as he stepped forward to face
them.

"Well, well, well, looks like Rat Boy has a friend." Parker snarls as
she stands at the door with her gun aimed at Jarod. She was looking at
Angel with hungry eyes, which didn't go unnoticed by Jarod, who looked
at Angel who was still staring at her. Wesley was staring at her with a
slightly opened mouth.

'What? She's just wearing leather pants and jacket and a black tank-top
underneath. I've seen her like that before.' Jarod thought to himself,
watching the way Wesley was drooling. Angel was just staring at her,
like a deer caught in car headlights.

"You don't need the gun." Angel said when he finally got a hold of
himself. 'What is it about her?' Angel thought.

"Don't tell me what I need and what I don't." She snapped walking down
the lobby stairs toward them. Sydney and Broots followed.

"OK." Angel starts to walk toward her. She shifts her aim from Jarod to
Angel. "But we won't hurt you, so just put the gun down."

"Take ONE MORE STEP, I'll blow you to OBLIVION. I don't wanna hurt you
but you're gonna force me to do it and I don't want such a nice looking
guy on my conscious." She tells him calmly, her eyes burning.

"You can't hurt me." Angel laughs.

"Parker, he hasn't done anything, we just want Jarod, don't start
anything." Sydney said from behind her. With everyone talking to her
and with Angel still walking toward her, she panics and fires upon
Angel.

After firing 5 bullets Parker notices that Angel is still standing.
"What the fuck?" She points at the desk and fires. "Not blanks. What
the hells going on?"

"Parker just relax. He won't hurt you." Jarod walked over to her
quickly but stopped when she aimed at him.

"What the fucks going on? I put 5 fucking bullets in him and HE'S STILL
STANDING!" She yells at them.

"I won't hurt you, but if you'll calm down I'll explain everything to
you." As Angel started to walk toward the frantic Parker a thin, sharp
piece of wood comes flying across the room and hits Angel in his left
shoulder. Simultaneously, Parker spins around to face where the wood
came from and Angel falls to his knees clutching the spear in his
shoulder. Jarod rushes over to him and looks at the piece of wood.
"Pull in out. One fast, quick jerk." Angel instructs.

Jarod yanked it out. Angel starts to growl deep with in his chest.
"Angel, you OK?"

"Just fine Wesley." Cordy walked over and helped Jarod get Angel to his
feet.

"You have to stop getting skewered every few minutes. Someone might get
you in the right spot and then you'll be a pile of ash on the floor."

"Thanks Cordy, you're so compassionate." Angel said sarcastically as
they gently sat him down on the arm of the chair.

"How bad as it?" Wesley asked as she was undoing the buttons on his
shirt.

"The wooden spike isn't that bad but I don't know what we're meant to
do about the bullets." She turned to Jarod. "Wesley and I can take it
from here but I think your friend needs a REALLY long explanation." And
indicated to Parker, who was white as a sheet. Sydney was trying to
calm her down but failing miserably. Her eyes were wide with fear and
she was trembling. Her eyes were glued to Angel's form.

He nodded and walked over to her. "Parker?"

"I…I…He…Why? How?" She was stumbling with words which was scaring
Broots and Sydney since she ALWAYS has a cool composure.

"Shh, just take it easy. If you're ready, I'll explain everything." He
gently touched her arm.

"How? I shot him 5 TIMES…What's going on?" She shook her head in
confusion.

"How about we go outside and let Cordy and Wesley get him patched up?"
He walked to the door and waited for her. Parker slowly followed but
watching Angel as she walked past. He looked at her and smiled. She
walked out into the courtyard quickly, putting her gun back in its
holster.

Sydney and Broots were looking around nervously. "Maybe we should go
out there too."

"No, you can stay here if you like. But first of all, this is Cordelia
and Wesley and I'm Angelus, but you can call me Angel."

"You can call me Cordy, everyone else does."

"Nice to meet you, I'm Sydney and this is Broots…"

"And that pale person who walked out with Jarod is Miss Parker." Broots
finished. He always wanted to introduce her to someone, even if she did
just try and kill him.

"Nice to meet you…Don't worry about the bullet wounds, I'll go upstairs
and deal with them myself." Angel got his shirt. "If you'll excuse me."

"Of course." Sydney answered politely. Angel walks up the massive
staircase and up to his room. "Cordelia?"

"Yes?" She looked at the older man.

"Why wasn't Parker able to hurt Angel when she shot him?"

"Umm…Angel's a vampire…" Was all Cordy said before Parker stormed in
and headed for the door. She was back.

"Parker wait!" Jarod called out running behind her.

"No, you're crazy, I'm not, I'm leaving!" She snarled and headed for
the door again.

"He won't hurt you." She stopped suddenly and spun round to face him.
He stumbled back. He wasn't expecting her to spin round so sharply.

"What don't you understand? READ. MY. LIPS. HE'S A VAMPIRE HE SUCKS
BLOOD FOR A LIVING!" She yelled at him.

"Miss Parker." Wesley said bravely.

"What?" She turned her blazing eyes on him.

"A-Angel isn't like that. H-He was put under a gypsy curse."

"Well WHOOPY!"

"Parker just listen to them. They're still alive and Jarod's all right.
Maybe they're telling the truth." Sydney said to her soothingly.

"Am I the only one sane here? You brainless twits can die, I'm
leaving!"

"Parker! STOP BEEN SO FUCKING ARROGANT!" Jarod yelled at her angrily.
She froze in her tracks. "Thank you, now just listen to them. They know
what they're talking about." He said in a calmer voice. Everyone was
stunned to hear Jarod raise his voice and swear at her, but it got her
back into gear.

Wesley took this moment while she was momentarily stunned to explain to
her. "Angel was cursed with a soul when he killed a gypsy woman. He
doesn't kill anyone to feed he gets the blood from the hospital." He
said in his calm, slightly accented voice. She slowly turned around and
faced them.

"Why are you here?" She asked Jarod.

"I came to work on a case in the police department and finding out some
information on The Centre. But Cordy had a vision and I was in it, so
I'm here now till they figure out what it means."

"Visions?"

"They're kinda like dreams, except they hurt like hell. They tell me
when there's a demon about to go on a rampage and Angel goes and
squashes him before he hurts anyone."

"Vampires. Demons. Visions. Someone PLEASE pinch me." She said to
herself. Broots stepped up and pinched her arm gently. "Hey! I wasn't
serious!" She hissed.

"He's just like me, defending the weak and abused."

"He isn't just like you." She sat down on the stairs leading to the
door. Angel came back down in a fresh black shirt and the silence was
thick and heavy. He walked over to Wesley, who shook his head.

"She needs a little time to adjust. She wouldn't listen but Jarod
seemed to get her under control." Angel nodded and watched her.
'There's something about her that I can't quite put my finger on.' He
thought.

Jarod walked over and knelt in front of her, taking hold of her icy
hands. "Why don't you go back to the hotel and get some sleep. When you
come back tomorrow we'll talk some more."

"We don't have a hotel. We only found you on a fluke guess. Lyle's in
New York. We didn't expect to find you." She said, taking her hands
away from him.

"You could stay here, there's a few rooms that won't collapse if you
sneeze." Angel joked but she didn't seem to find it funny.

"I'll take Miss Parker with me, I don't think she wants to spend the
night surrounded by men." Cordy joked but even that didn't snap her out
of her deep thinking.

"Parker?" Jarod asked gently. She nodded, stood up and walked out the
door, retrieving her cell from her pocket.

"Sam, something's come up, I want you to…" Then her voice faded.

"Cordy, she might be a bit quiet like she has been but that's nothing
to worry about, she just wants to keep to herself." Cordy nodded and
walked out the door.

CORDELIA'S APARTMENT:

"Home. Sweet. Home." She said as she unlocked the door.

Parker flinched as a voice boomed in her head. [Angel, don't go in
there. Something's wrong!]

"Miss Parker are you OK?" Cordy asked when she saw Parker flinch.

"Just fine." She walked in as Cordy closed the door behind her. A book
came flying across the room. Parker spun round and caught it.

"Denis!" She hissed.

"Who's Denis?" Parker asked as she put the book down on the table.

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you. You'd probably freak out
again."

"I probably wouldn't. But I think I know who Denis is. I've dealt a lot
with ghosts." She smiled. "Where's the bathroom, if you don't mind I'd
like to have a shower."

"Of course, it's down the hall second on the left. I'll try and find
some clothes that you could sleep in. I don't think leather would be
very comfortable."

"No. Thank you." She walked on to the bathroom

"I'll leave the clothes outside the door." Cordy walked down to her
bedroom.

CORDY'S APARTMENT:
11:45P.M.

Cordy was just walking down the corridor, past the spare room when a
movement caught her attention. The blankets were slowly moving up
around Parker's neck, but she wasn't moving. "Denis." She walked away
from the door and back out into the living room. She got a pen and
paper, setting them on the desk. "Tell me what you feel in her." The
pen lifted vertically and began to write.

Powerful. Dangerous. Trust her and help her get a handle over her
gifts.

"What gifts?" Cordy asked.

Get Wesley to investigate her.

"A lot of help you are." Cordy ripped the piece of paper off the pad
and walked down to her bedroom, turning the lights off on her way.

THE HOTEL:
10:30A.M.

Parker was sitting out in the courtyard, in the sun. Sydney and Broots
were behind her, watching quietly. Jarod came up behind them and looked
at her. "How is she?"

Sydney shook his head. "She been there since she and Cordy came this
morning. She hasn't spoken a word."

"We better get her out of the sun. You know what happens when she gets
too hot." Jarod walked quietly behind her. "Parker?"

"Go away."

"Will you come out of the sun for a little while?"

"No."

"You know he won't hurt you." He put two and two together.

"What I don't understand is that I BELIEVE everything. And I'm not
surprised by it."

"That's what happens when you get raised in The Centre. You find out
things that anyone else would go El' Freako about. But we just stop
look, shrug our shoulders and walk away like nothing ever happened."

"But at first…" She stopped short and looked at the ground.

"I know." Jarod sat beside her.

Cordy and Wesley were watching from their workstations. "I think we
have a problem." Cordy said.

"What?"

"I asked Denis last night what he feels in her and he wrote this down."
She pulled out the piece of paper out of her pocket and showed him.

"What gifts?"

"I don't know."

"Do you think she could be responsible for the spike that nearly killed
Angel?" He asked her.

"I don't know. Maybe we should ask one of them." She indicated to
Sydney and Broots.

"We'll talk to Angel first. They mightn't know and there's no point in
worrying them."

"Worry who about what?" Angel appeared out of nowhere.

"We think Miss Parker is responsible for you getting spiked."

"There's only one way to find out." They walked over to where Sydney
and Broots were standing. Jarod turned round and looked back at them.
Angel signaled him to come back.

"I'll be back in a minute." Parker nodded. Jarod stood up and walked
over to the group. "What's wrong?"

"I need you to get Miss Parker out of the sun. We need to check
something." Angel instructed.

"What?" Sydney asked.

"You might find it unbelievable." Wesley said to him.

"You wouldn't say that if you knew where we worked." Sydney said
cryptically.

"We think Miss Parker might have the gift of telekinesis."

"I wouldn't be surprised." Sydney said quietly, looking out at where
she was sitting.

"How do you mean?"

"She has something called the 'Inner Sense'."

"Oh, we just need to get her out of the sun so I can see if she has
that gift." Angel explained.

"What are you going to do?" Broots asked.

"I won't hurt her. Just make her think that her life is been threatened
should be enough to kick it off."

"As long as you don't hurt her." Jarod said dangerously.

"I won't, just get her out of the sun." Jarod nodded and walked over to
her.

"Parker, would you come out of the sun for a little while. You'll get
too hot in your suit." She nodded and stood up, walking back into the
lobby.

"Where is everyone?"

"Don't know." Jarod understood how Angel was planning to frighten her
and so played along.

"I do." They heard Angel growl from behind them. They spun round to
come face to face with him. Jarod stood in front of Parker but Angel
just threw him across the room, knocking him out when he collided with
the wall.

"Jarod!" She cried out as she saw him fall limply to the floor. She
backed away quickly.

"You don't need to worry about him." Angel growled, transforming into a
vampire. Ridge forming on his forehead, eyes changing to green and gold
and burning, teeth sharpening and two teeth lengthening to make fangs.
"You should be more concerned of what I'm going to do to you." He
started to walk toward her.

"You're not going to do jack to me."

"Don't be so sure. I've all ready killed your friends. But the old guy
tasted funny." Angel shrugged and continued to walk toward her. Parker
stepped back and started to circle him. He too began to circle, their
eyes locked. "But I have a feeling you'll taste different to EVERYONE.
But it's a pity to kill someone so beautiful."

"Hate to disappoint you but I'm not going to die that easily." She
hissed at him, not breaking eye contact.

"You would be quite convincing if it wasn't for the fear in your eyes
and the pounding of your heart. The heart that I want unified with
mine." He growled, making his eyes burn brighter.

Something snapped inside of Parker. "I AM NOT AFRAID!" Parker yelled.
Angel flew across the room backward and smashed against the wall. His
feet lifted four metres off the ground.

Jarod slowly stood up. "Parker?" She spun round and faced him with an
angry glare on her face. "Easy it's just me."

"What's going on?" She snarled.

"We had to find out if you were the one responsible for the flying
piece of shrapnel. I see that you are." Angel stood up and started to
walk toward her. His face was normal. "I didn't mean to frighten you
but it's the only way we could find out."

"FIND OUT WHAT?" She hissed like a wild animal caught in a small cage.

"Telekinesis. Parker you just threw him across the room using your
mind." Sydney said gently, coming back into the room, showing her that
Angel didn't hurt him. Wesley, Cordy and a frightened Broots followed
him.

"I didn't do JACK FUCKING SHIT!"

"Parker I've got something to tell you that I've wanted to do for a
long time…I'm the one who killed Thomas, not Brigitte."

"You WHAT?" Jarod flew backward across the room and crumbled to the
floor after he smashed against the hard wall.

"Parker he didn't kill Thomas, he just said that to trigger off your
anger." Sydney said to her before she smashed his head to a pulp
without lifting a finger.

"That's not funny!" She cried out. Jarod began to rise to his feet. He
was holding his throat, like something was around it. "I SAID THAT
TOMMY WASN'T A GAME. DON'T FUCK AROUND WITH ME WHEN HE'S CONCERNED OR
YOU'LL PAY THE FULL FUCKING PRICE!" She hissed.

"Sydney…Cover her eyes." He whispered hoarsely. His feet were no longer
touching the ground. Angel ran up behind her and put a hand over her
eyes.

"GET OFF!" She yelled and started to twist. Angel quickly wrapped his
other arm around her middle and stilled her. "LET GO!" She hands came
up and tried to get Angel's hand away from her face.

Jarod fell in a heap on the floor, coughing. "Watch her, she's deadly
when you've got her cornered like that." Sydney went over and helped
Angel to restrain her. He held her hands in a strong grip.

"Parker, calm down. He only meant to show you. He didn't mean anything
by it. Just calm down."

"He's treating Tommy like a GAME. HE'S NOT A GAME. JAROD DESERVES TO
DIE!" She screamed at them. Jarod got to his feet and walked toward
her. He bent his head closer to her ear and whispered to her.

"Listen to your Inner Sense." She started to thrash but Angel stilled
her movements. "Listen to the voice."

She stopped and listened. "Tommy!" She cried out.

"What's he saying?"

"I don't want to listen. I don't want to listen!" She tried to get away
from them but no one would let her go.

"Just listen to him. What's he telling you?" He gently stroked her
head.

[Parker, believe him, he didn't mean it. Jarod didn't kill me. Just
calm down Angel, no one here will hurt you on purpose]

She slowly calms down. Jarod nods and Sydney lets go of her first. He
sees red marks on her wrists where he was holding. Her hands slowly
drop to her sides. Angel moves his hand away from her eyes. Jarod looks
into them but they were just normal sapphires in the sun. "Let her go
now. She's OK." Angel lets his arm snake around her waist and then
releasing her.

Cordy steps up to her. "How about you come with me and we can talk for
a while if you want. I'm a good listener." She suggests.

"Did I hurt either of you?" She asks in a small voice.

"No, but I'll have a few bruises." Jarod smiles at her. "You go with
Cordy." She walks away and out into the courtyard. Cordy follows her.

"Maybe we should have gone about that another way." Sydney said to them
quietly.

"It was the only way and what's done is done. And no one got hurt."
Angel said reassuringly.

"Sydney's right. They way we did this we've just destroyed any barrier
she might have made concerning you. She might've trusted you but now
after this display she mightn't be sure." Jarod said.

"Yeah." Angel responded, but he was in his own thoughts. 'What these
people don't know I WASN'T pretending. But they will soon.' He walked
away from them.

Jarod noticed something in his eyes. Apart from not having any life,
there was something else there. 'It might be best if I watch him for a
little while. I get the feeling there's more to him than meets the eye.
And if he's going to do anything to Parker he's in trouble.'

Sydney looked at the way Jarod was watching Angel walk away and shook
his head. 'Will he never learn to trust those feelings?'

COURTYARD.

Cordy was sitting down on the garden seat watching Parker pace in front
of her. "Do you want to talk?"

"No." She said as she turned and did another length of the courtyard.
"How much do you know about this telekinesis?"

"Not a lot. But we've had some experience with it. Your case is
different to the other one." Cordy answered, seeing where the
conversation was going.

"Do you think you'll be able to help me get a hold on it?" Parker
stopped pacing.

"I could try." She looked around, but couldn't find anything. "I'll be
back in a minute." She ran back into the lobby.

"I'm not going anywhere." She started pacing again.

Cordy came back out with a book. "OK, focus on the book." She sat it on
the ground. 'Wesley won't mind if she smashes his book against the
brick wall.'

"You aren't serious!" Parker exclaimed.

"Apparently not." She walked over to where Parker was pacing. "How did
you throw Angel against the wall?"

"I don't know. I was just angry."

"OK. Just concentrate on the book." Cordy picked it up and held it in
front of Parker.

"I have never heard of anything SO STUPID in my life and I've heard
some pretty stupid stuff!" She snarled.

"Just focus. Think of something that would make you angry." Parker
stared at the book. "You'll have to concentrate." She took a deep
breath and focused.

[Parker, think about what happened to me. But control that anger and
focus it]

Cordy saw Parker nod. She could see her bright blue eyes getting a
green tinge in them. 'It's working, she's got it.' Cordy smiled as she
felt the book lift out of her hand.

"Now hold it there."

"HOLD IT! I just got it up!" The book flew across the courtyard and
smashed into the glass window. Sydney came running with Broots and
Jarod.

"What happened?"

"Someone just got a little frustrated. Can someone bring me the book
back?" Broots got it and walked back over to them, cautiously. Parker's
eyes were a bright green and it was scaring him.

"Has anyone seen my…Cordy! Haven't you heard of asking before taking?"
Wesley saw the book Cordy had in her hands.

"I needed a book so I just grabbed this one. I'm teaching, now you lot
go away." Cordy said turning back to Parker. They slowly walked back
into the lobby.

"Do you think it's wise to let Cordy teach Parker how to throw books? I
mean she's dangerous enough with her gun but now she can throw objects
without lifting a finger." Broots said.

"It would be better if she's taught to control it otherwise every time
she gets angry objects will be flying and she can't do anything to stop
it." Wesley said.

"He's right Broots. Would you prefer a time bomb with a good long fuse,
that can deactivate itself or a time bomb that's likely to blow up in
your face?" Sydney asked.

"I would prefer the old Parker."

"Well that is no longer an option." Jarod said.

Meanwhile out in the courtyard Parker was controlling the book a lot
better. She found out she could control the objects better with her
hand raised, moving. "OK, now go to throw it against the wall but just
before it hits, stop it." The book flew towards the wall but stopped a
few inches away. "Good. Now the only problem is that your eyes change."

"That is a bit of a problem. Everyone at The Centre knows what colour
my eyes are and if they change people might start asking questions."
She said as she zigzagged the book around.

"Well, try it again, but try and control your eyes. Try and make sure
they don't change."

THE COURTYARD:
11:45A.M.

When Jarod came to the door he saw Parker was still out there with
Cordy. Cordy threw the book at her but Parker waved her arm sharply and
sent it flying, but stopping it before it hit the wall. 'I see she's a
fast learner.' Jarod thought and smiled. 'We have a lot more in common
than she knows.'

Sydney came up behind him. "How's she doing?"

"Learning fast. Maybe we should call it a day, we don't want her too
tired."

"Might be best. If she's learning that fast we better call it off for a
few hours so she can have a rest." Jarod nodded and walked out into the
courtyard.

"OK, let's…Hey!" Jarod caught the book that flew at his head.

"Jesus Jarod! Don't sneak up on me like that, you're just lucky it
wasn't a knife!" She opened her hand and the book flew back to her.

"Sorry, but I just think you should have a rest."

"Fine. But later." The book flew slowly across to Cordy and hovered in
front of her. "Throw it again."

Cordy plucked the book out of the air. "Later. Jarod's right we've been
working solidly for nearly 1½ hours. Your eyes are burning too bright
for my liking."

"You lot aren't any fun!" She stormed inside.

"At least we know she isn't likely to kill us now." Jarod joked and
walked inside.

THE LOBBY:
2:30P.M.

"OK, who's the wise arse that stole my books?" Wesley fumed.

Parker looked up from where she was lying on the couch. "Don't know?
When was the last time you saw them?"

"They were on my desk…Cordy where did you put them? I need them!"

"I didn't take them. I only had the one when I was working with
Parker." Everyone looked at Parker.

"What?"

"Parker, where'd did you put Wesley's books?" Jarod asked as he moved
towards her. She laid back down and looked at the ceiling. Jarod looked
up. "Found your books."

Wesley looked up and saw his books going round in circles like in a
cyclone. "Hey! Get them down here now."

"Say please." She whimpered. "What did you expect? I was bored and you
lot wouldn't occupy me so I'm just amusing myself."

"OK, we're to blame, just give Wesley his books back." Jarod said
nicely.

"Say the magic words."

"Please." Jarod and Wesley said in unison.

"Umm…Nope."

"Bring them down now or we'll make you." Parker's head shot up. Broots
just shrugged. A smile crept across her face and she started to laugh.

"All right, when you asked so nicely." The books came down and landed
on Wesley's desk.

"Thank you." Wesley walked over to his workstation. Parker poked her
tongue out at him. Sydney and Broots started to laugh. Wesley turned
around. "What's so funny."

"Nothing." Parker laid back down. She tossed a cushion up and started
to make it circle like a tumbleweed.

"Parker, don't you think you should give that a rest?" Jarod asked.

"Maybe." The pillow dropped fast and hit him in the head.

"Hey, no fair." He picked the cushion off the floor.

"So sue!" He started to walk towards her but another cushion flew up
and hit him in the face. Sydney, Broots and Cordy just stood back and
watched the one-man pillow fight.

"Come on Parker, play fair. I have to be able to hit you."

"Says who?" She growled and stood up, holding out her hand for a
cushion. It floated up to her opened fingers.

"Come on. Just one on one no little mind tricks." Jarod taunted as he
tosses the pillow up in the air in front of him then catching it..

"You think I couldn't whip your arse?"

"Umm…Nope." She stepped up and hit him in the head. "Ow."

"Can't take it Lab Rat?"

"He doesn't know what he's getting himself into." Cordy whispered.

"He knows." Broots and Sydney said in unison.

"I'll give you Lab Rat!" He hit her in the head. She had her head hung
down. "OOPS!" When she lifted her head her eyes were a greeny blue
colour. "Oh-oh." Jarod dropped the cushion and bolted. Parker did the
same and she was right behind him.

The others just watched them ran outside. "I hope she kicks his arse."
Cordy laughed.

"She will." Sydney laughed as well. They all walked over to Wesley.

"Found anything yet?"

"Not much. Only that anger can be a trigger but the harder part for the
person is if they can't control the objects that are flying around
them, they are likely to go insane. Eye colour change can occur but
only in rare cases, if…" He read further down. "If the gift has been
inherited from a strong power source."

"Catherine." Sydney thought out loud. "No. But I wouldn't have seen the
signs."

"Not necessarily. If they are in complete control it is harder to
identify if that person has the gift."

"But why has it only surfaced now?" Sydney asked.

"It surfaces if there has been a traumatic event. And…that's all this
book says but if I look at other books I'll be able to find some other
triggers."

Parker and Jarod come back. Jarod was holding his head. "I don't need
to ask who won."

"I did." Parker smiled brightly. Her piercing blue eyes had returned
one more.

"Come on, we'll do some more training."

"Good. I'm getting restless."

"Oh God. I don't know how Thomas put up with her."

"I heard that!"

"You were meant to." Jarod called back.

"Bastard!" They heard Parker mumble.

THE HOTEL:
8P.M.

Cordy had been working with Parker constantly all day. Parker was now
exhausted. She was lying on the couch, sleeping. Everyone else had
something to eat but they thought it best if she slept for a while.

They were around Wesley, listening to what he had to say about
telekinesis. All except Angel, who was looking at Parker's sleeping
form. Jarod saw him and stood up, walking to the edge of the front desk
and watched him closely. "Jarod, you listening?"

"What…Yeah." Jarod still watched him.

"We better leave it for a while. He's distracted." Sydney said and
stood up, walking over to where Jarod was standing.

Angel turned around and saw everyone looking at him. "I'm going out."
He walked to the door and out into the night.

"I think someone should stay with Parker. I don't trust him." Jarod
said walking over to Parker. He knelt down on the floor and gently
stroked her head.

"We'll finish discussing. He won't pay attention now." Sydney smiled
and sat down at the desk.

THE HOTEL:
10:30P.M.

Parker was still dead to the world while everyone else is outside to
get some fresh air. They thought it would be safe enough to leave
Parker alone in the lobby since Angel wasn't at the hotel. They saw him
leave a few hours ago. What they didn't know was that Angel had crept
back into the hotel and was waiting till they all left the lobby so he
could be alone with Parker.

After 2 and a half hours perched on the ceiling it was now safe to go
down to Parker. He fell to the floor, but stopped a few inches before
impact to make it soundlessly. He walked over to her sleeping form and
knelt next to her head.

He slowly reached out to touch her head, but she didn't wake up. He
gently ran his hand down her head and touched the soft, warm skin of
her neck. He leant over her and rested his head lightly on top of hers.
"You are mine. I can smell it." He whispered to her soothingly. She
stirred in her sleep, but only to tuck her head more comfortably under
his chin. "Who else would sleep so trustingly with death sitting
nearby?"

Jarod walked back in to check on her. He stopped suddenly when he saw
Angel leaning over Parker's form. He ran over and pulled him roughly
away from her. "Get away from her!" Jarod growled.

"Don't you dare pull me away from her!" Angel yelled. Sydney came in to
investigate the yelling. They started circling each other dangerously.

"What's going on?" He asked them.

"Check her neck and wrists." Jarod ordered, ignoring his question.

"I haven't bitten her!" Angel hissed.

"Check!" Jarod yelled. Sydney walked over to her, kneeling on the floor
next to her head. He gently moved her hair away from her neck.

"There are no marks." Sydney said, getting up and walking over to the
two circling males. "Now can someone please tell me why you're at each
others throats?"

"He was leaning over Parker! He was touching her!" Jarod growled as
they continued to circle.

"Jarod, just keep your voice down." Wesley and Cordy came back in.

"What's wrong?"

"He was going to kill Parker." Jarod snarled angrily.

"Is she OK?" Cordy asked.

"Yeah, just sleeping. Now Jarod, I'm sure there is a simple explanation
for what you saw." Sydney tried to reason with the angry pretender.

"Yeah, he was going to bite her!"

"You're acting like she belongs to you." Angel growled, changing into a
vampire.

"She's no ones!" Jarod snarled as they continued to circle.

"Angel you don't want to do anything about this." Wesley tried to
intervene.

"Shut up Wesley. This isn't your fight."

"But you can't seriously fight him." Angel shot Wesley a cold glare.
"OK." He backed away.

Cordy crept over to Parker and knelt next to her. "Parker wake up Jarod
and Angel are fighting." She gently shook her shoulder. Angel and Jarod
were throwing punches at each other when Parker woke up. Angel went to
knock Jarod's lights out but he couldn't move his fist. He tried to
lift his other arm but it wouldn't move. He looked up and saw Parker
who was standing watching with a smile on her face.

"Now give me one good reason not to send you flying!" She hissed as she
walked toward them.

"We were fighting over you. He's acting like he owns you. But you're
mine." She walked closer to Angel and ran a hand across his face.

"And why am I yours?"

"You have the scent."

"Well, isn't that nice?" She paced around him. "Now listen VERY
carefully Fang Boy, I'm in charge and I'm the ONLY ONE allowed to beat
Wolf Gang Puke senseless. Kapeche?"

"But…"

"I can smash you against the wall with a flick of my wrist." She lifted
her hand and started to move her wrist around to warm up the muscles.
Angel nodded and his face went back to normal. She teasingly patted his
face. "Don't go bad. Fangs AREN'T a good look." She released him and
walked over to Jarod. For once he had fear in his eyes. She smiled and
shook her head. "I play fair. Do you need a talking to or is it just
Fang Boy?" Jarod smiled at the name.

"Just him."

"Good." She left them and walked out into the courtyard, which was
illuminated by the full, high moon.

"How did she get so powerful?" Angel asked.

"I was teaching her how to focus her energy into her gift instead of
making her angry she has complete control of it now. She found out she
has more power if she uses her hand." Cordy said, quite pleased with
herself.

"Great." Angel walked away, but not out to Parker.

"What did Angel mean by she has the scent?" Sydney asked after he had
gone.

"I don't know, but I'll go and find out." Wesley walked after Angel.

Jarod just walked out and he couldn't see her anywhere. "Parker?"

"Shh." He heard her whisper. He felt her walk up next to him.

"Thanks for what you did earlier."

"Hey, I couldn't let him kick your arse. What would Daddy think if his
prized possession came back all bruised?" She joked.

"Are you still going to take me back?" Jarod asked her carefully. He
had to watch himself now since she can send him flying.

"I don't know now. Everything's changed." She shook her head and walked
away.

"Do you wanna show me something?" He changed the subject before she got
defensive and walked away from him completely.

"Like what?" Her mood changed again.

"Don't know, you chose."

She thought a minute. "OK, relax."

"Don't hurt me."

"I won't." She smiled and concentrated. She looked at his jacket and
focused. He could feel the jacket sliding off his shoulders. He watched
it as it floated effortlessly through the air and rested on her
shoulders.

"Cool." Jarod smiled as she moved in the jacket, resting it more
comfortably around her.

ANGEL'S ROOM:
SAME TIME.

Wesley had just knocked and was walking into the living area of Angel's
apartment. "Angel. What did you mean by she has 'the scent'?"

"Exactly that."

"I don't understand."

Angel looked at Wesley. "I don't believe you do. Cordy had that vision
for a reason. Jarod wasn't in any trouble so maybe it was because the
PTB's knew that Jarod would lead Parker to me."

"I still don't follow." Wesley shook his head.

"Parker is mine. Her scent…" He stared off into space. "Her scent
brings every part of me to life. A part that thought was long dead.
Darla said that I would find someone that would go with me like two
pieces of a puzzle."

"How can you be sure?"

"She is mine. The first time I saw her I knew there was something about
her. She's part of me."

"But she isn't yours. She mightn't know it yet but she's Jarod's. I've
seen they way he looks at her. It isn't like prey looking at the
huntress with fear-filled eyes. He cares about her."

"She's mine and if he gets in the road I think I'll just have to kill
him to claim what's rightfully MINE!"

"SHE'S NO ONES!"

"She belongs to me. I will have her."

"I won't stand by and watch you hurt her or any of the others." Wesley
walks to the door.

"If you interfere I will kill you. This doesn't concern you. It's
between me and him."

"You won't." Wesley left.

"Then let the games begin."

DOWNSTAIRS:
SAME TIME.

"What's going on Cordelia?" Sydney asked.

"I don't know. We'll have to wait till Wesley comes back." Cordy
answered, swinging around in her chair, in front of the laptop.

"Is Angel going to hurt Miss Parker?" Broots asked.

"No. From what I can understand is this: Miss Parker has some kind of
scent that is making Angel act crazy and not like himself. He thinks
Jarod is a threat to his possession and he wants to keep him away.
That's all I can understand."

"Are we a threat to him?" Sydney asked.

"Not I that I know of, but like I said we'll have to wait till Wesley
comes back." Just then Wesley storms down the stairs and over to his
workstation, going through his books and the ones he doesn't want he
just dropped them on the floor.

"He's lost it!" Wesley exclaimed when he finally found the book he was
after.

"What's wrong?" Cordy walked over to him.

"I need to read about this 'scent' thing." He said as his eyes still
scanned the page.

"Wesley WHAT IS WRONG?" Cordy demanded.

"In short: Angel thinks that Miss Parker is his partner."

"What?" Sydney, Broots and Cordy asked in unison.

"He thinks Miss Parker is the other part to his puzzle." Wesley said,
looking up from his book.

"But…T-that's impossible." Broots stuttered.

"It's OK Broots." Sydney put a gently hand on the younger man's arm.

"I'm afraid it isn't Sydney. Broots has every reason to be afraid. If
Angel loses control and Angelus comes back then we are all at risk and
a threat to his possession. He'll do anything and everything within his
power to claim what he thinks is his. You don't know what Angel becomes
when he loses control."

"Is there anything we can do?" Sydney asked.

"Prey and hope that he gets over this."

"No one gets over Parker." Broots mumbled but everyone heard him.

DOWNSTAIRS:
SAME TIME:

Wesley had everyone looking in his big old books, looking up anything
about vampire's 'scent'. "Found anything yet?"

"No." They answered him. They all saw Angel storm past and outside.

"His face was all funny." Broots whimpered.

"Yeah, he's broken loose. We're running out of time, Angelus is out."
Wesley said, shaking his head and focusing on his books.

"Shouldn't we go after him?"

"I wouldn't." Cordy said to him gently.

"Either would I. Parker's changed Broots." Sydney reminded him.
Suddenly Angelus came flying back into the room and smashed against the
wall with a wet smack! Parker stormed in after him with Jarod following
her, carrying his jacket. He ran over to Sydney.

"She's just snapped! Angel came out of nowhere and with one wave of her
arm she sent him flying." Jarod was freaking out.

"We can't do anything but ride the storm out." They looked over to
where Parker and Angelus were encircling each other. Each ready to rip
the others throat out.

"I want nothing with you just yet."

"Lay one finger on any of them you'll DIE!" Jarod, Sydney and Broots
all noticed that her voice was different. They gave each other a quire
look saying 'Did I just hear her right?' She sounded like Angelus
growling, but a female version. They didn't like it.

"You can't kill me. We're meant to be together." Angelus charged at
Jarod but Parker waved her arm sharply and sent him flying in the
opposite direction. "This is getting really old." Angelus stood up
slowly, shaking his head. "Why don't you just let us fight it out? Not
involving you. I don't want to hurt my possession."

"Sweet. But fat chance!" She growled in her vampire like tone.

"What's wrong with her?" Jarod asked, worry written all over his face.

"I don't know." Wesley looked at the two of them circling each other.

"Make it stop. It could be hurting her!" Jarod was going frantic.

"We can't, it's out of our hands." Cordy said sadly.

"So you're just going to stand by and watch him kill her. Fine.
Parker!" He ran towards her but she just flicked her wrist and sent him
flying back against the front desk.

"Jarod!" Sydney rushed over to him.

"I'm OK Syd, but we have to stop her. She's out of control."

"We can't. But if what Wesley says is true then Angel or Angelus won't
hurt her." Sydney helped Jarod to his feet.

"What didn't you understand about what I said earlier?" They continued
their dangerous circling. Angelus suddenly stopped and looked at her.
His face went normal and he smiled at her.

"You win. If he makes you happy, so be it. But just remember you belong
to me." And with that he walked to the door and out into the night.

Her legs gave way and she collapsed in a heap. "Parker!" Jarod yelped.
Everyone ran towards her. Jarod got to her first. He carefully lifted
her head and rested it in his lap, gently stroking her face. When she
opened her eyes, Jarod gasped.

"Jarod what is it?"

"Sydney. Look at her eyes. They're tigers." Sure enough her eyes were
green and gold and they were moving like flames.

"What's happened to her?" Sydney demanded. "What has he done?"

"Angel hasn't done anything. Like I said before in very rare cases of
telekinesis eye and voice change can occur. But it doesn't last long,
it's only while, how do I put this? While she's under the power of
telekinesis." Wesley explained.

"So she wasn't herself?" Jarod asked as he ran a gentle hand across her
face.

"No, when she was fighting Angelus she must have tapped into the power
fully without resistance."

"You know what your talking about but you seem unsure in Parker's
case." Sydney stated.

"We've only dealt with ONE other case of telekinesis. But she was
different she was around it all her life and she wasn't as strong as
Miss Parker is." Cordy said. "But what makes her special is because she
has another gift as well as telekinesis."

"Will she be all right?" Broots asked.

"Yes. But we must let her rest so she can come back to normal fully."
Jarod nodded. Broots and Wesley helped Parker to her feet.

"Let go!" She snarled.

Jarod stood up and knocked her legs out from under her, lifting her
higher into his arms. "If you can hear Thomas' voice. Listen to it and
calm down." He said gently and kissed her temple. Which didn't go
unnoticed by the others. "What?" He asked defensively.

"Nothing." Sydney shook his head.

"I'll take her up to my room. Angelus won't be able to get in will he?"

"Yes, but if you lock the door he won't." Wesley answered, watching
Parker fall asleep in Jarod's arms.

"All right." Jarod walked upstairs to his room.

Jarod just placed her on the bed when she stirred while he was still
leaning over her. The green and gold was fading from her eyes and been
replaced by the blue that Jarod loves so much. She didn't say anything,
just lifted her hand. The blankets crept up her body. She held them
around her tightly and fell asleep. "Goodnight my Huntress." He kissed
her forehead and crept out of the bedroom and into the living area of
the apartment.

He laid down on the couch, but he couldn't sleep his mind was spinning
out of control.

What have they done to her?

When did this start?

Why is this happening to her?

Is there anyway to stop it?

What's happened to my huntress?

Jarod fell asleep from exhaustion. Been thrown against the wall takes a
lot out of you.

DOWNSTAIRS:
SAME TIME.

"What do we do about Angelus?" Sydney asked.

"Nothing. He stepped down from the fight with Miss Parker, so she won.
I'll need to read up a bit on vampires. I can tell this is going to be
a long ride."

"How about you just call her Parker, I think you'll be classed as a
friend now so I think you can stop the formalities."

NEXT MORNING:
THE LOBBY:
8:30A.M.

Jarod came downstairs. Wesley and Cordy were still in the old books.
"Morning."

"Morning. Where's Parker?" Wesley asked when he didn't see her with
Jarod.

"Still sleeping. I left her a note not to let Angel in and to come down
when she's ready. But I think she'll be resting for a while all this
excitement would be upsetting her ulcer." Wesley nodded.

"Why don't you take a break? You've been up all night." Cordy said
concerned.

"Can't. I have to find out what Angel's planning to do with Parker."

"I can do that, but you need to take a break." Jarod said, moving over
to his chair.

"All right. I suppose I could get something to eat." Jarod sat down
where Wesley was and started to read the books he had opened.

"Have you been up all night too?"

"No, I've only been up for a little while. What I can't understand is
why Angel is fighting so hard to get Parker when she's clearly not
interested."

"She has that influence over people. Everyone has high goals." Jarod
said, turning the page.

"I've been meaning to ask Parker, but I can tell it's a touchy subject.
Who is Thomas or Tommy?"

"Thomas was a man she met about a year and a half ago. She didn't let
him get close to her at first but she started to let her guard down
because she saw he wasn't going anywhere. She tried all of her tactics
to scare him off but he just got closer to her. After they'd been
together for a few weeks Tommy got a job offer in Oregon and Parker was
going with him. But the place where she works controls everyone like
puppets and they wouldn't let her go. They sent her a message written
in Tommy's blood that she belongs to them. When she woke up after
making up her mind to tell Tommy how she felt and that she was going
with him she found him outside, shot in the head." Jarod said sadly.
Cordy sat there in stunned silence.

"And that's who she can hear with this Inner Sense?"

"Yes."

"Thank you." They heard Parker whimper. Jarod's head shot up.

"Parker, wait." He ran after her.

"What? I just started to forget what he looked like! Then you had to
remind me how I found him!" She screamed at him, tears streaming down
her cheeks.

"I'm sorry Parker, Cordy wanted to know, she wouldn't ask you so she
asked me. I didn't know you were there." He held her tightly. She tired
to push him away but stopped when she heard Tommy's voice.

[Baby, he just wants to help, don't push him away. He's trying to make
you feel better]

"He's the one who made it hurt!" Parker whimpered to him. Jarod held
her tightly, knowing she was taking to Thomas' voice.

[Honey, he didn't know you where there. They only want to help, stop
pushing them away. Just pretend it's me holding you. That always made
you feel better when I was alive]

"What are you trying to do? It hurts enough as it is!" She started to
push Jarod away again. 'Thanks a lot Buddy, making me take your
beatings.' Jarod thought, holding her flying fists.

[Parker! Just do it] He ordered. She stopped in mid-strike. He never
had ordered her to do anything he was always patient, quiet and
understanding with her. She stepped up to Jarod and put her arms around
his neck, burying her face in his shoulder. He closed his arms around
her and held her tightly, resting his jaw on the top of her head.
[Thank you. See? I haven't left you. Just look at it this way, you hear
my voice and you have someone holding you, therefore I am still with
you. Let your mind fill in the rest of the illusion]

She started to whimper. "It's OK Parker." Jarod whispered to her,
swaying her from side to side.

Broots and Sydney came in to investigate the yelling. Cordy walked over
to them. "We had a slight problem. I ask Jarod who Thomas was and
Parker heard him explain which kicked off the explosion. When she was
talking to his voice she was going nuts!"

"It's still a painful subject for her." Sydney said, looking at Jarod
stroking Parker's head gently.

"I now know not to ask ANY MORE questions."

"This wasn't your fault. With her hearing Thomas' voice as her Inner
Sense, it's going to open up old wounds. If you didn't kick it off
someone else would have. You mustn't blame yourself, but when you ask
questions about Parker and or Thomas make sure she's somewhere far
away." Sydney said gently. "We'll leave them alone, Jarod seems to have
her under control and we might just start the afterburners." They
walked away quietly.

Walking through the lobby, Cordy saw Wesley was dead to the world on
the couch. She walked over and covered him with the blanket, taking the
book out of his hand. "You'll have to learn what 'take a break' means."
Cordy whispered.

THE HOTEL:
3:30P.M.

Wesley was awake. Everyone was in the office. "What are we talking
about?" He asked when everyone stopped talking when he entered the
office.

"We have to leave. We can't stay any longer." Parker said to him.

"But you can't go."

"Is that an argument?" She stood up straight instead of leaning on the
bench.

"No, but what about Angel and the telekinesis?"

"Not my responsibility and I can control it." She snarled.

"OK, maybe you can control the telekinesis but Angel. He's gonna go off
his head if you leave."

"Well he's just gonna hafta go off his head. I'm not staying. We've
been away from The Centre too long. Lyle rang this morning, he's
getting nosy."

"But you don't know Angel. If he goes mental, he'll start killing!"

"That's not my problem! He's the one who got this STUPID idea in his
head! He has to deal with it. My life DOESN'T revolve around him!"

"Parker, maybe you should listen."

"Whose in charge? Me or some guy with a drinking problem."

"He is."

"Oh, lovely, so now I'm taking orders from a blood sucking freak who
doesn't know what to do. Can my life get ANY better?"

"You can still go but you need to talk with Angel."

"You aren't serious? He gives me the creeps, he stares at me."

"Everyone stares at you in those short skirts."

"I'm not wearing a skirt you dork!"

"But the leather pants are a bit tight." He smiled at her. She waved
her hand and pushed his chair back. "Hey!"

"You aren't dead, so stop whining!" She hissed. "What do I say to Fang
Boy?"

"Just tell him you have to go back. That he can come and visit…"

"He can what? I don't want him creeping into my house with an
invitation! I get enough with that with Jarod, but he doesn't have an
invitation. EVER!" He just got his chair up and he sat back down. She
pushed him back on the floor.

"I think I'll just stand." Jarod said as he stood up.

"He probably won't come round but if you say he can it would make it
easier on him." Wesley explained.

"Fine, when's Fangy getting up? I wanna leave now."

"Fangy, is up." She jumped and spun round.

"Don't do that!" She snarled.

"Sorry, you want to speak with me?"

"Unfortunately."

"He won't do anything." Wesley said.

"Why would I? I know whose boss."

"Good." Parker walked out into the lobby with Angel following like a
puppy dog. "Now listen carefully. I have to go back to Blue Cove. I've
been away from The Centre too long…"

"Can I come visit?"

"Fine, but ring me when you do. I don't like surprise visitors."

"I will. When are you leaving?"

"Today, my nosy brother rang and I have to go back. I said that we lost
Jarod, so I have no reason for been away from The Centre. If I don't go
back, they'll send out the hounds to hunt us down. Then they'll find
you and all hell will break loose."

"OK." Angel stepped up and hugged her.

"Hey, let go! Wesley get him off me!"

"He's only hugging you, relax, he won't bite!"

"That's easy for you to say. You're over there!" She whimpered.

"OK, you don't like been hugged." Angel let go of her and stepped away.

"It's not that, I just like YOU hugging me. I'm not sure if your good
or your gonna go GRRR on me." She stepped away from him.

"I'm sorry, I won't do it again. If I could change what I am, I would,
but I can't."

'Great I'm feeling sorry for the vampire.' She thought. "I know, I'll
get used to you, just give me time." She said and walked away. "Sydney.
Broots."

"If you're ever in LA again you'll look us up."

"Yeah, but we better go. The Boss beckons." Broots smiled. When he saw
the glare on her face the smile disappeared and he lowered his head.

"What about Jarod?"

"We missed him, again. Just this once Jarod and don't expect it to
happen again."

"Bye Parker." They left.

"I'm confused." Cordy said. "She hunts you and she just walked away?"

"This happens sometimes. It doesn't change anything. She still hunts
me. She only lets me go when there's NO OTHER option."

"I'm gonna miss her." Angel said, walking back over to them and sitting
down with a sigh.

"She has that effect on people. You can't wait till she leaves but when
she does you want her to stay." Jarod said to him.

"But I shouldn't feel this way about her. It's too dangerous."

"And so is the way I feel. She hunts me and I care about her. Much more
than I should. There's nothing wrong and your life will go back to
normal in a few days."

"I hope so or we're in trouble." Angel said in himself but the others
heard him.

Angels and Demons I-1B.

BLUE COVE:
THE CENTRE:
3 WEEKS LATER:
2:10P.M.

Parker got out of her car and headed for the new security system. When
they were away in LA someone had broken into The Centre, so it was Mr
Parker's order that a new security system was to be installed to stop
intruders. How it worked was that everyone has a different iris, even
if there were many people with blue or brown eyes, every iris is
different. So a computer scanned the iris and the guard swiped their
card and if everything checked out, it was a Centre employee.

When Parker went through this little ritual today, it didn't work.
"You've got to be kidding me! Oh this isn't fucking happening!"

"I'm sorry Miss Parker, but the scanner must have a little bug in it."

"Well get the bug out before I do something you might regret!" She
snarled. She knew why it wasn't working. She was way too angry and the
tiger-eyes were shining through.

"OK, it should work this time."

'Think of blue. Think of blue. Think of blue. Think of blue.' She
chanted as the guard scanned her eye again. The green light flashed.
"Thank you." She hissed. "If this happens again, I'm gonna have your
head on a plate, on a pedestal in my father's office!" She walked away.

"You had to screw up on her, didn't you?" He said to himself.

Parker walked down the corridor and she ran into her father. She
started glaring at him. "Angel?"

"What?"

"What happened with the iris check?"

"How the fuck am I suppose to know? The arsehole of a guard said that
there was a bug in it. I'll give him BUG!"

"Now Angel, you know it needs to be done after what happened with the
security breech."

"Does it look like I care? I'm not in the mood for your fucking
speeches." She snarled and walked away.

THE CENTRE:
6:30P.M.

Parker was in her office and she was fuming. She ripped her father and
brother's head off, not forgetting to choke Lyle. And did that feel
good? Unfortunately Cox saw her, but she doesn't know he saw. So she
was now in her office and everyone was leaving her there.

Sydney crept in with a very nervous Broots next to him. Ever since they
had come back from Los Angeles, Broots has been treading lightly around
her. He was jumping through hoops all because he didn't want to get
chucked across the room like she did with Angel and Jarod. "Parker what
is it?" Sydney asked gently.

"Some arsehole has bought Tommy's house!" She snarled. The vase lifted
from its pedestal and moved towards the wall, fast.

"Parker!" She spun round and raised her hand. The vase stopped merely
millimetres away from the wall. "Just calm down, OK?"

She nodded and sat down. Broots walked over and plucked the vase out of
the air, then walked back over to put it on its pedestal. "I can't go
there any more. It wasn't even for sale. When I find out who my 'new
neighbours' are, I'm gonna kill them!"

[You don't mean that Parker]

"I mean it and don't try and stop me." Parker said. She looked coldly
at them when she realised that she spoke out loud.

"Listen to Thomas, Parker, he wouldn't want you to kill anyone."

"I don't care! That house WAS and IS Tommy's!" The vase started to rise
again.

"Parker, just calm down."

"Don't tell me to calm down when some little twerp has bought my
sanctuary!" She turned round abruptly after she let that last bit slip.
She's told them too much.

"Oh Parker…" Sydney said sympathetically.

"Don't, just go."

"It's good someone bought it. They can take care of it for you. You
might even become friends with them." Sydney ignored her plea and
continued.

"I don't make FRIENDS. I make ENEMIES!"

"What are we?" Broots asked. She was silent. "You mightn't realise it,
but Sydney and I are your friends. After Thomas was killed we hung
around close just in case you needed someone. I can't speak for Sydney,
but when you were in so much pain and I couldn't do anything to help,
it was hurting."

"Come on Broots, we better go." Sydney said gently. They left silently.

"Thank you. But I'm doing all of this to protect you."

[I know Parker and they will soon]

She smiled. "I think you're the only one who understands me."

[…And Jarod]

"…And Jarod."

SOMEWHERE INSIDE THE CENTRE.

What they didn't know was Cox had put a small camera in her office and
saw everything from the vase flying across the room and her controlling
it, from a safe location. He also made sure that there was a sound feed
so he could hear everything that was said. After seeing what happened
with Lyle, Cox moved quickly and set up a small bug in her office.

He sat back in his chair, watching the small monitor and smiled.
"Gotcha!"

LOS ANGELES:

Angel had been restless since Parker left. He was pacing the lobby.
Cordy and Wesley were very edgy seeing him like this. When they'd gone
to kill a demon Angel was angrier than usual. "Angel why don't we go to
Blue Cove?" He stopped pacing.

"We should, you won't be yourself till you see her." Cordy said.

"I thought I would be able to handle this." Angel said, looking at the
floor.

"She'll be all right, she was looking after herself long before you
came along."

"Are you sure we can go?"

"I'll ring Gunn and tell him that we'll be going away for a couple of
days." Cordy walked over to the phone.

"We'll leave as soon as we pack some clothes, then when we get to Blue
Cove it'll be dark." Wesley said. Angel nodded.

PARKER MANOR:

RING. RING.

"Why does he have to ring now?" Parker growled as she walked to the
phone, drying her hair. "What?"

"I heard about someone buying Thomas' house." He said gently.

"From here on in, if you EVER start talking about him I'm gonna hang
up." She growled. He knew saw wasn't joking so he started to beg.

"I'm sorry, don't hang up! I just thought I'd get straight to the point
tonight."

"Well get the point before I disconnect."

"I'm the one who bought Thomas' house. And before you get angry I did
it because I knew you still go there when you really miss him and feel
lonely. I didn't want anyone buying it and stopping you from going
round there, so I bought it for you." Jarod said quickly.

"You did that…For me?" She asked slowly, like hearing her voice for the
first time.

"I knew it wouldn't stay unoccupied for long and I knew that you still
go there when you want to be left alone and be closer to him, so I just
bought it." He was waiting for her to yell at him, but what she said
next left him stunned but not surprised. If he was able to play the
Thomas card and get her good side to show he was safe enough.

"Jarod I…Thank you."

"That's all right Parker. Now you don't have to worry about neighbours
and not been able to go there." Jarod laughed.

"I think I should ring Syd, I flew off at him earlier."

"No need, I all ready rang and explained."

"Thank you. If you were here I would hug you but also hit you for
scaring me like that." She hissed.

"I know, I'm sorry. I should have let you know sooner but I was
planning it to be a surprise, but I wasn't counting on you going past
and seeing the sign. But after I spoke with Syd and he told me that you
went off your head I thought I better tell you. I thought you liked
surprises."

"I used to. I don't anymore."

"Well, just remember you owe me a hug and a punch."

"I won't forget the punch." Parker laughed.

"I know, well, I only rang to set your mind at ease about Thomas' and
NO new neighbours."

"But will I ever have a neighbour?"

"Maybe after a little while. I'm a bit busy but you will soon.
Goodnight Parker."

"Night Jarod." He hung up. "I'll remember the hug."

[He knows. If only I could get that hug]

"In my dreams, my love, in my dreams." She smiled and put the phone
back down.

PARKER MANOR:
11:45P.M.

Angel was sitting in the car looking at the house. "Go on, she gave you
permission before she left." Cordy reminded.

"We'll stay here till your ready then we'll drive onto a hotel before
dawn." Wesley said.

Angel got out of the car nervously and walked up the path to the front
door. When he touched the door a smile crept across his have. He bent
down and picked the lock. CLICK. He opened the door. When he stepped
over the threshold he was ready for an invisible force to stop him. But
nothing stopped him so he quietly shut the door and walked through the
house soundlessly.

He walked towards the stairs and looked up. 'She's up there.' Angel
thought. He started to climb the stairs, towards her room.

She was lying in bed in a red flannel shirt. Her form was illuminated
by the moonlight seeping through the window. He climbed onto the bed
and slowly crawled towards her. He could tell she was cold by the way
she was lying on her stomach, holding the blankets around her tightly.
He moved the blankets away from her neck and moved his lips closer to
her skin, placing a gentle skin on the back on her neck. She jumped
when he touched her neck. "Shh, it's only me. I had to come and see
you."

"It's only been a couple of weeks, surely you haven't missed me that
much." She murmured, moving to lie on her side.

"I have." Angel whispered.

"Oh, poor vampy." She curled up against him. He wrapped his arms around
her tightly. "You better behave." She whispered, feeling his lips near
her neck.

"I will." He kissed her neck again. She placed her hand on the back on
his neck, resting her head under his chin. "You can go back to sleep."
When he didn't get a response he craned his head down to look at her.
She was sleeping again. He sat there holding her form in his arms,
gently stroking her head.

PARKER MANOR:
4:45A.M.

Angel gently moved her off of his chest, stood up and walked over to
the door. "Angelus?" He turned back to look at her.

"Yes my Lamb?"

"Where are you going?" He walked back and sat next to her.

"I have to go before the suns up."

"Where?"

"We're going to drive to a motel in town."

"We?"

"Wesley and Cordy came."

"Hang on." She threw the covers back and got out of bed. She walked
over to the chest and opened the top draw. She pulled out a key with a
blue ribbon tied round the top. "There's a house up the road. It's got
a sold sign in front of it. You can stay there, but if you three touch
ANYTHING you will DIE!"

Angel closed his arms around her. "Everything will stay the same
promise." He kissed her neck and released her. She hands him the key.

"See that it does." She walked back over to her bed and buried herself
under the covers.

"I'll come back tomorrow night." He walked out of her room and
downstairs.

When he went outside and got in the car, Wesley woke up. "How was she?"

"OK."

"How are you now?"

"Fine. There's a house down the road with a sold sign in front of it,
Parker said we could stay there, but not to touch anything."

"OK." Wesley started the car and drove off.

Meanwhile Cox's loyal sweepers, Dan and Andy saw everything. "Do you
think Mr Cox will get angry with us after we tell him?"

"I don't know but he sure as hell didn't get the name Grim Reaper for
been a Boy Scout." Andy said snappily. "We still take it in shifts,
wake me up at 6."

"Yes Andy." Dan sat back and gazed at the house.

THE CENTRE:

Parker was walking down the corridor when Broots stopped her. "Miss
Parker, I was under my desk picking up papers when I heard the Grim
Reaper talking with his sweepers Dan and Andy…"

"How many times have I told you HEADLINES?" She snarled.

"Umm, from what I heard Grim Reaper has taken a personal interest in
what you do."

"WHAT?" She yelled. Andy and Dan who were watching from a crowd a few
metres away jumped and looked at each other.

"The shits hit the fan." Dan said.

"Let's get going." They turned.

"Hold it!" They froze in mid-stride. Andy turned to face her.

"Yes Miss Parker?"

"Come with me." She growled and walked towards her office. She stormed
in with the two sweepers following her. She spun round and glared at
them. "Why is Cox having me watched?"

"We don't ask questions, Miss Parker, we just follow orders." Andy
said.

She moved closer to him and hissed in his face. "Well you can politely
go and tell Road Kill to get his arse up here now before I hunt him
down and kill him, so he has more in common with his stuffed animals."

"Yes Miss Parker, we'll go and find him now."

"Make sure he doesn't waste any time about it either!" They nodded and
turned to the door. They wanted to get out of the 'Lair of the Dragon'
before she started Round 2.

"He didn't say we would get caught." Dan said to his friend.

"He didn't have to. This is the Ice Queen, The Huntress, whatever her
fucking title is he didn't have to! She can tell when she's been
followed."

"Let's go find the boss before she hunts US down."

"That's the smartest thing you've said today." They ran down to the
elevator, ready to go up to Lyle's office. They didn't have to since
they saw Cox and Lyle walking towards them. They ran over to them.
"Excuse us Sir?"

"I'll review it with you later." Lyle walked away.

"What is it?"

"You are ORDERED to go to Miss Parker's office. She found out we were
following her and the interest you've taken in her. SHE IS PEEVED!"

"Didn't I tell you to watch yourselves?" They walked away.

"You didn't tell us anything Sir."

"This is the Ice Queen, how dumb are you? She could smell you a mile
away!" They stopped at her door. "Now go and get ready to follow again
in 1 hour."

"But Sir…"

"NO BUTS! Just go." They ran away. Cox opened her office door and
walked in. She was sitting in her chair, with her back to the door. He
closed the door and walked up to her desk, linking his hands behind his
back. She spun round and glared at him coldly. "A little vex?"

"Why the fuck are you following me?"

"I'm interested in you."

"Listen Freak! Unless you stop following me and tell Lyle, Daddy OR
BOTH to get off my back you aren't going to be watching anything!" She
snarled.

He knew she meant death. "I'm not under orders."

"Then why? You're playing with fire when you mess with me!" She
growled.

"I know, but secrets aren't kept long. Especially if you fly objects
around the room." He said to her calmly. He hadn't moved a muscle
through the whole explosion.

"What kind of sick game…"

"I know what you did with the vase." He saw fear flash in her eyes.

"I didn't do jack shit!"

"Yes you did, just watch." He turned toward the vase and opened his
hand. It came flying towards him. "That." He moved the vase back to the
pedestal.

She stared at him like he was on fire. "Why don't you tell Daddy? You
would get a big tick next to your name if I become a science
experiment." She said with a shaky voice.

"You keep my secret and I keep yours. I watch your back you watch
mine."

"How do know you won't double cross me?" She asked him.

"I won't. But you have to trust me on this. You won't be able it keep
this to yourself. They will find out." Cox said.

"Why should you care what happens to me?"

"A promise." He sat down in the chair in front of her desk.

"To who?"

He leant closer to her and whispered. "Jarod."

"What? Why did…"

"Shh, we can't talk now. I'll come round tonight. Have Sydney and Mr
Broots there." He got up and walked to the door. "You can trust me." He
put a finger to his lips. "No one will know." He looked at her.

"No one will know." She nodded reluctantly.

"Thank you." He left.

She picked up the phone and dialed Broots' extension. "Broots here."

"Get up here ASAP!" She ordered and hung up.

PARKER MANOR:
8:20P.M.

Parker drove home with Cox, Sydney and Broots following. She unlocked
the door and walked in to turn on the lights. Suddenly two arms wrapped
around her from behind. She only had to have two guesses to who it
would be. There are only three people that would do this and one was
unfortunately dead and the other one had warmth in their skin. Cox came
in and saw a strange man with his arms wrapped around Parker. He waved
his hand twice, once to get his arms away from Parker and to send him
flying against the wall.

"Cox!" She snarled and walked over to where Angel was getting to his
feet.

"I wouldn't have down that Sir." Sydney said when he came in and saw
what was going on.

"I'm going to kill you! Who do you think you are?" Angel snarled,
changing.

"What the hell?" Cox stepped away.

Parker was in front of Angel, touching his face and shoulder, trying to
calm him down. "OK, just relax, he didn't know, he's a friend." She ran
her hand softly down his face. He focused his eyes on her but kept
walking. She kept herself against him to keep him away from Cox.

"But he sent me flying…Away from you."

"I know, but he didn't know. He won't do it again, will you Cox?"

"No, I thought he was going to hurt you."

Angel looked at him and then at her. "OK?" He nodded, going back to
normal. "Good." She ran a hand along his face again and stepped away.
When she turned around Angel wrapped his arms around her and pulled her
back. "All right." She leant against him. "Broots, could you shut the
door?"

"Sure." He scuttled over and shut it.

"When did you come Angelus?" Sydney asked.

"Last night. I had to see my Little Lamb."

"Sweet. Now the reason why we're here?" She looked at Cox.

"Are there any bugs?" He asked as he looked around the room.

"None, I sweep when I get home."

"Well, like I said before I'm keeping a promise I made with Jarod."

Angel made a growling noise. "Friend not foe." Parker reminded,
touching the back of his head. He sat his chin on her shoulder and
buried his face in her neck. Cox's eyes widen with fear. "No teeth now
get on with it."

"Umm… Jarod found out I wasn't what I seemed and we got talking. I
don't agree with A LOT of what The Centre does. He told me if I was
seen with Lyle and Mr Parker, that I would get respect and privacy and
to keep up a high profile when I look like a ready to rip someone's
head off. He warned me the only problem would be you." She smiled at
that last bit.

"But why send us the model of your head and the little paper trail
leading us to the wax museum to see you execute us?" Broots asked him,
quietly.

Angel's head shot up. "Easy." Parker murmured. He pulled her closer and
tucked his face against her neck again.

"So you would think of me as an enemy. He was concerned that if you
knew and were seen been nice to me, not treating the stranger as a
threat that it would endanger your lives."

"So he scared us senseless about you been the Grim Reaper to protect
us?" Sydney asked, still a little confused.

"Yes, oh I'm still the Grim Reaper, but only to The Centre.

"Great!" Then to Angel. "Do you have Lab Rat's number?"

"I do." Cox answered. Everyone, but Angel shot him a cold stare.

"You have his number? And just WHEN did you decide to enlighten to this
little gem of information?" She hissed through clenched teeth. Angel
started to kiss her neck, at which she relaxed.

"That was another part of his plan. He didn't want The Huntress to know
anything till she had to." He pulled out his cell, pressed a few
buttons and held it out to her.

"Let go." She pried Angel's arms away from her and stepped out of his
grasp. He started to get angry. "Relax!" She hissed. He was silent. She
took the phone from Cox.

"Just press OK." She pressed it and held the phone to her ear.

"Detective Jarod Johnson."

"Listen Lab Rat and listen good. What is the fucking deal with Road
Kill?"

"Parker!"

"Yes now answer the question!"

"I know you're angry…"

"No shit Sherlock!"

"Are you going to listen or not?"

"Sorry." She started pacing around the room.

"Thank you. Cox is on our side. Not Lyle's. Not Raines'. No even Dear
Old Daddy. Ours. Sydney, Broots, Angelo you and me."

"I know what OURS means when you say it!" She hissed. "Why should I
trust you?" She snarled. She was getting angrier and angrier, Angel
could tell that by the way she was pacing.

"Would you believe me if I said I swear on Thomas' name?" He asked
gently.

"Stop right there! You leave him outta this! He isn't a game and your
playing with fire treating him like one." A silver knife that was
sitting on the table lifted and opened. Cox saw it and tried to push it
back down but it wasn't working, she was too angry.

"I'm not treating him like a game."

"BULLSHIT!"

"Parker, I don't wanna fight. I'll be coming back in a couple of days
and explain."

"Parker." All eyes were glued to the knife in case it suddenly flew.

"What?"

"The knife."

"Wait! Just tell me, do I believe what he's told us?"

"He put you in touch with me, doesn't that seem to fit?"

"Well yeah…" She started to calm down. The knife rested on the table.

"Well believe him then. Try and get to know him till I get there."

"Fine." She growled, pushing a lock of hair out of her eyes.

"Oh and Parker, don't kill him. He holds power at The Centre that we
can use. Power you don't have yet."

"Fine, I'll be a good girl."

"I don't believe you will be."

"Just shut the fuck up." She hung up the phone and turned to the
others. "What were you blubbering about?"

"The knife was floating."

"God! Don't you have ANY faith in me?" She opened her hand. The knife
came flying towards her. She caught it handle first. "Why didn't you
put it down?" She looked at Cox.

"Couldn't, you were too angry."

"What did Jarod say to put you in such a mood that you nearly stabbed
us without realising?" Sydney asked.

"What does Lab Rat ALWAYS say?" She snarled, walking over to put the
knife back on the table. She made the mistake of glancing at the
picture of her and Tommy she shook her head and walked away from them.
Sydney shook his head sadly. "Do you have anything else to add?" She
asked, looking at the fireplace in front of her.

"No." Angel walked over to her, but she just stepped away from him.
"Who were you and Jarod talking about?"

She spun round and glared at him dangerously, making him regret asking
the question. "None of your business and if any of you tell him I won't
be pleasant!" She snarled and left the room. They heard the back door
open and slam shut.

"She's never going to let him go, is she?" Angel asked.

"She loved him. She just needs time." He nods.

"What happened?" Cox asked. They looked cautiously at each other. "I
deserve to know."

"You do." Sydney nodded. "Parker met a man named Thomas Gates. He was
one of the few people she let get close to her but unfortunately
someone had Brigitte murder him just before they were ready to leave
for Oregon." He explained in a gentle solemn voice.

"And what's making it harder for her to let go is that she has another
gift, the Inner Sense, which is in the form of Thomas' voice." Broots
added.

"I might be able to hunt down who ordered it." Cox said.

"She would appreciate you trying."

"I'm gonna go talk to her." Angel says, walking away from them.

"Be careful, she gets hostile if you corner her." Sydney warned.

"I know." Angel nodded and through the house to the door. She was
leaning on her side, against the wall, looking out into the cool, calm
night. He soundlessly approached her.

She felt icy fingers run down her spin. She knew who it was. "Angelus,
I just wanna be alone." He didn't answer but she sensed he came closer.
"Just go, please."

"No. Not while you're like this." He murmured.

"Fine." She went to walk off the porch but a strong grip seized her
arm. "Let go!"

"No."

"Don't play with me!" She shoved him away roughly. He didn't like been
pushed away, he stepped up angrily, changing.

Cox and Sydney were watching from the door. "He's going about this all
wrong. If he tried to calm her down she'd react better. He's only
fueling her anger." Cox said quietly.

"You think your so fucking great, JUST because you're a vampire! I've
had enough!" She snarled, not stepping down.

"I don't wanna fight you."

"Then just leave me alone! I'm not in the mood to play your games!" She
yanked her arm free and walked off the porch, into the consuming
darkness. He went to follow but stopped when he heard Sydney's voice.

"Angelus."

"What?" He turned to look at them.

"Let Cox go, she's getting too angry for you to control."

"What makes Cox think he can calm her down?"

"You're all getting too close. She wants someone to listen her side of
the story!" Cox snarled at him.

"She just wants the connection with Thomas." Sydney said gently.

"If you hurt her…"

"Why would I do something like that? And what can you do? You're
forgetting I threw you across the room." Angel stepped down. "Good."
Cox walked away, in the direction Parker took.

He found her sitting under a tree, leaning on the trunk. "What don't
you people understand about leaving me alone?" She hissed.

"I thought we could talk, but I see you don't want to, so I'll just
go." Cox used a little reversed psychology on her.

She breathed deeply. "You don't have to."

[Good girl, he doesn't mean any harm]

He sat down next to her. "I'm sorry about asking who you were talking
about. I shouldn't have."

"You probably only know one side, knowing Sydney and his motor-mouth,
he told you."

"He did but I shouldn't have asked."

"He thinks he knows how I feel. No one does. No one knows what it feels
like to feel safe only to…I shouldn't off load my problems on you." She
crossed her arms in front of her. He moved closer and rested a hand on
her neck. She jumped and pulled away. "What are you doing?"

"You're tense."

"That's no excuse to touch me." She snarled.

"I was just going to rub your neck, it would make you feel better."

"The only thing that would make me feel better is the thing I can't
have." She whispered.

[Parker, he's right. You're too tense and explosive. He's on our side,
so he's safe. He only wants to help. They're all worried about you
Angel]

He saw her nod. He reached out and touched her neck again. She didn't
pull away she just flinched. He started to rub the base of her neck and
shoulders.

Up at the house, Sydney, Broots and Angel were watching. Sydney and
Broots were expecting her to rip his throat out. "If he hurts her…"

"He won't. She can take care of herself Angel, so stop worrying."

Back down at the tree, Cox was starting to make Parker relax. He was
now sitting behind her instead of the tree. [Angel, lean back, you'll
be more comfortable]

"No."

"Huh?" Cox asked, he hadn't said anything. He remembered the Inner
Sense, so she was probably talking to him.

"Nothing."

"Why don't you lean back? Your still tense." She shook her head. He
rested his hands lightly on either shoulder and pulled her back against
him. "Trust me, I won't bite." He whispered to her. She nodded and
relaxed slightly. She sat up quickly, her hand flying to the small of
her back. "I'll do that." He moved the coat and unfastened the holster.
He handed it to her.

When he was ready to pull her back, she surprised and him and leant
back on her accord. [Now talk to him Parker. If you won't talk to
Sydney or Jarod, talk to him]

"He doesn't want to know." Cox started to rub her neck again.

[He does Sweetie, just ask him a test question]

"How much did Syd tell you?"

"Not much, he wasn't sure if he should, so he just gave me points." She
started to move the square ring around on her finger. Cox lifted her
hand and looked at the ring. "Same as mine." He went to let go of her
hand but she held it tightly and dragged his arm over her shoulder. He
wrapped his arms around her tightly. She still moved the ring
nervously.

"Some people say Tommy was the best thing that happened to me. It WAS
until he was murdered."

"And you just got knocked back into your shields."

"When everything happened. Finding Tommy. Been accused for his murder.
The funeral. Finding people who knew something and finding them dead 3
minutes later. It just felt like my soul had been ripped out. I was
aching all over. I had nowhere to go. Daddy was ignoring me, I couldn't
go to Sydney or Broots since I work with them and I have a standard to
maintain and I didn't want them smothering me. My last resort was
Jarod, but we always end up fighting. He says something and I say
something and we're at each other's throats, like a good little Prey
and Huntress should be."

"You felt like the world was against you."

"How else was I meant to feel? In my nightmare of a life I found a
dream. But they had to crush it just because I was getting carried
away. They had to write a little 'we own you, no one else' message in
his blood. I have innocent blood on my hands and my conscious." She
whimpered.

"OK, if you don't want to talk anymore, we won't. We'll just sit here
quietly." He held his arms around her tightly. 'These people haven't
even noticed she's still wounded!'

"Why are they so cruel?"

"I don't know, it's just the way they are. I won't tell a soul what you
just told me."

"Not even Jarod?"

"Not even Sydney."

"Good." She rested her head against his shoulder. She looked up at him.
"Thank you for listening."

"No problem, but you needed to tell someone that."

"I needed to tell someone who (a) wouldn't mother me, (b) would listen,
and (c) who hasn't heard The Centre lies." She pulled his arms around
her tighter, moving back against him. Cox smiled. She was starting to
trust someone. "They're destroying his memory and I can't do ANYTHING
to stop it."

"Shh, I'll try and find something. We'll get them."

"Thank you."

"This isn't part of Jarod's plan but I'll fit it in somewhere."

"What is Jarod's plan?" She still looked up at him.

"Wait till he comes. He'll explain everything." He gently undid the
grasp he had around her. "Let's go back to the others." He helped her
to stand.

She stretched and fastened the holster to the small of her back. He ran
his hand along her back. "I'm OK now."

"Good."

They walked back up to the house. Angel walked over to her. Her eyes
changed to tigers and she glared at him angrily. "Don't touch me!" She
snarled and walked upstairs.

"What the hell have you done to her?" Angel demanded.

"Nothing. We just talked! If any of you knew her like you claim to you
would know she's the walking wounded!" He snarled at them angrily.

"Don't you dare try and tell me anything about her! Who do you think
you are?" Angel growled.

"Someone who can send you flying if you put a foot wrong."

Parker came down a few minutes later after she got changed into jeans
and a white shirt. She could sense the tension in the room. "All right
who said what?"

"Did I hurt you when we were away from the others?" Cox asked.

"No, why?" She snarled.

"See?" He glared at Angel.

"Oh Christ, I don't want a fucking homicidal vampire on my hands, so
just cool it!" She growled.

"But…"

"Don't push it Fangy!" He sat down. "Now, I'll talk to Daddy tomorrow
and see what I can do about getting you put on the hunt with us."

"All right." They all sat down and started to discuss different things,
like what they were going to do while they were at The Centre.

THE CENTRE:
NEXT DAY.

Parker just walked into her father's office. "Angel?"

"Hello Daddy."

"What can I do for my Little Princess?" He asked sweetly as she walked
up to the desk and sat down in the chair.

"I want to talk with you about Cox."

"What's he done now?" He asked as he sat down after she had gotten
comfortable.

"Nothing. I want you to assign him with me on the hunt."

"What? Why Honey?" He was shocked to say the least.

"He's giving me the creeps. You know how it is? Have your friends close
and your enemies even closer. I want Road Kill where I can see him."

Mr Parker starts to laugh. "All right Honey. I'll organise it now."

"I'm not going soft on him Daddy, I just want him where I can see him.
I don't want him sneaking up on me." She stood up and buttoned her
jacket.

"All right Angel."

BUZZ.

"Mr Cox is here to see you Sir."

"Show him in."

"I'm gonna go, I don't like been round him more than I have to." She
walked over to the door just as Cox came in. "Move it or lose it
Freak!" She spat. He stepped aside. She left.

"Beautiful, isn't she?"

Cox looked at him quickly. "Excuse me Sir?"

"Don't act so innocent. I've seen the way you look at her." He sat back
down in his chair.

"I don't know…"

"Come, come, we're all friends here. If you have your sights on her,
fine. But if you hurt her in ANY WAY I'll have your head on a plate."

Cox just nodded. 'Wait till I tell her. She'll crack up.' He thought.

PARKER MANOR:
9P.M.

Sydney, Broots, Parker and Cox were sitting round the living room
talking. "You'll never guess what your father said when you left."

"What?" Parker raised an eyebrow.

"He thinks I'm attracted to you and the reason why you wanted me
working with you is because you've taken an interest. He said you
wanted me where you could see me."

"Oh yeah, I'm MADLY in love with you." She purred sarcastically. They
all started to laugh. "Oh boy, how dumb is he?"

KNOCK. KNOCK.

She got up and walked past Cox, leaning down putting her mouth close to
his ear. "Don't go anywhere." She purred softly. Sydney and Broots
chuckled again.

She opened the door and Jarod was there. "I knocked tonight."

"I'm in love with Cox." The shocked look on his face started another
burst of laughter. "Get in here Lab Rat! I'm only joking." She pulled
him in by his jacket.

"You shouldn't do that."

"Why not? Jealous?" Parker purred from behind him. "YOU said get to
know him."

"Yeah, I said get to know him not sleep with him."

"Want that pleasure yourself?" She asked as she moved away. He made a
gentle growling noise in his throat. "Oh, Lab Rat's jealous, ain't that
sweet?"

"I am not!"

"Sit down and shut up. I'm only teasing." She sat down on the couch
next to Cox but at the other end.

"So is anyone else gonna show up for this little conference?" Jarod
asked, glaring at Cox.

"Christ Jarod, there is NOTHING between Road Kill and me. Even if there
was, which there isn't, I wouldn't have to answer to you. So just pull
your head in! It's getting beyond a joke now." She growled at him. "And
to answer your question no, no one else is invited to our little
'meeting'. Centre business."

"OK."

"So what did you want to tell us Parker?" Sydney asked.

"A little opportunity for Wolf Gang Puke to enlighten us on his plan.
Since we're all part of it, I for one, want to know if my head's likely
to get blown off!"

"Pity." Parker grabbed the cushion next to her and smack Cox in the
head.

"For the past couple of months I've been smuggling information out of
The Centre with Danny's help…" Jarod started.

"Who?" Parker asked.

"Me." Cox said from next to her. He leant closer to her. "Now that you
know my name, tell me yours."

"And they want ice water in hell." She shoved him away.

"Are you two gonna be arguing all night?"

"No." Parker growled, glaring at Cox.

"Danny's helping me get the information out and I'll be sending it to
the authorities…"

"Stop right there! Your involving outsiders?"

"Yes, is there a problem with that?"

"Hell yes! Have you forgotten the different branches we have in
Australia, Africa, Brazil, Germany, Russia, Japan and every fucking
other place on the map? Matumbo will swoop down and swallow you up so
fast it'll make your head spin!"

"I haven't forgotten."

"This is suicide!"

"And what do you call staying at The Centre?" Jarod growled.

"My way is safer!" She stood up.

"And your way would get a lot of innocent people killed." Jarod stood
up, glaring at her.

"Your way will get US killed!"

"So you would prefer to go in there and blow everyone's head off! Do
you know what Matumbo will do to you? You all ready know he doesn't
like you. He knows you're a weakness! He knows you're just like your
mother! Jarod yelled at her. She pulled out her gun and aimed at him
head.

"Don't tempt me to blow you away."

"Yes, Daddy can be very proud. Whenever you don't want to hear the
truth it's always pull out the gun and 'don't make me kill you'."

Everyone was watching in frozen horror, Sydney was chanting to himself.
'She won't kill him. She won't kill him.' Danny was mesmerised by her
eyes. She was burning with anger, but her eyes were cool and calm.
Broots wasn't thinking he was just staring at the gun.

"You know it's only a matter of time before the kill order comes. You
don't have the heart to kill me. It isn't in you, you're too much like
your…"

BANG!

Jarod stumbled back, his hand flying to his shoulder. "Jarod!" Sydney
yelped and ran over to him.

Danny stood up and walked in front of Parker. He put his hand on the
gun. "Let go of the gun." She let go. He handed the gun to the
terrified Broots.

"I pulled the trigger." She whispered.

"It's OK." Danny gently touched her face.

"I'm all right Syd, it only grazed my arm."

Sydney turned on Parker. "You shot him! I thought you knew Jarod was on
our side…"

"Sydney! She's fully aware of what she's done! Don't make it worse."
Cox snarled at him. "It was Jarod's fault for baiting her!"

"Don't try and push this onto Jarod! He's the one who was shot!"

"Oh and he's just a SAINT! He's never at fault! It's always someone
else. Wake up and smell…"

"Parker!" Broots called out. Cox turned round in time to see her
disappear through the door.

"Now look what you've done!"

"If she can't deal with what's she's done she IS weak. I bet her mother
is just weeping!"

"I'll deal with you later!" Cox ran out the door after her.

"Sydney, you've gone too far. Cox is right. Jarod was stringing her
along. He had it coming."

"She has to learn that you can't solve all your problems with a
bullet."

"Don't be so hard on her Syd." Jarod said from behind them.

"I can't help it."

ON THE ROAD:
1 HOUR LATER.

Danny had been walking along the side of the road but there wasn't any
sign of Parker. "Now if I was Parker, where would I go?" He asked
himself as he looked around. Suddenly he remembered when he was talking
with Jarod one time he mentioned something about a house up the road.
'She goes there when she wants to remember.' Jarod had said. In the
distance he could see a house.

"Doubt it, but worth a shot." Danny started running again.

About half an hour later he was at the front door. He tried it and it
was unlocked. He stepped inside and closed the door. The house had a
strong woody smell, but it was pleasant.

He started to walk through the house. When he got further in he could
sense something. "That's an old feeling." He pulled out his gun and
armed it. CLICK-SNAP.

She wasn't on the bottom floor or the second. At the end of the hallway
he saw another flight of narrow stairs.

He climbed up and looked around the corner. He saw Parker lying in the
middle of the floor underneath a skylight with soft moonlight shining
on her. "There you are." Danny put his gun away and walked over to her.
"Parker, come on wake up."

"Tommy."

"No it's Danny."

"No, I can feel Tommy." She rolled onto her back and looked up at him
with tiger-eyes. "And he can feel you."

"OK, that's enough of that talk, I've come to take you home."

"I am home. I'm where I belong." She smiled at him.

That smile sent a shiver down his spine. "OK, now your staring to scare
me." He went to touch her but he got an electric shock. "Ow!" He pulled
away quickly.

"You made him angry." She smiled again. "Jarod made him angry. Sydney
made him angry and they WILL pay." She closes her eyes. Danny pulled
out his cell. "It won't work."

He put his phone away and sat next to her. She was in no condition to
walk. He couldn't carry her out. He couldn't call for help and he
wouldn't leave her to get help.

PARKER MANOR:
11:45P.M.

"They should be back by now." Broots said to himself. Jarod and Sydney
were sleeping. Broots looked at them with hateful eyes. 'I thought you
cared about her.' He thought angrily. "I can't just sit here and wait."
He got up and walked out the door not looking back to the sleeping
figures.

"Danny?"

"Yes Parker?" He was lying on his side next to her.

"Tommy wants to know, do you trust him?"

"In what way?" He couldn't get over those tiger-eyes that were watching
him.

"He's going to help me…" She took a deep breath. "Bring down The Centre
and get revenge on…"

"Who?"

"Sydney and Jarod…He doesn't like anyone hurting his tiger-eyed angel."

"I won't hurt you."

Her eyes slowly closed. "He knows…Since…I know." She rolled onto her
side, curled into a ball and fell asleep.

Danny took off his coat and placed it over Parker, making sure he
didn't get another shock. He felt a sharp, stabbing pain in his hand.
"Ouch!" He pulled his hand back quickly and rubbed him palm.

GATES RESIDENCE:
7A.M.

Parker opened her eyes and saw the she was still in the attic of
Tommy's house and Danny was next to her. Her limbs felt so heavy and
she still felt so tired. "Danny." She touched the hand that was close
to her. He didn't move. "Baby, wake him up."

Danny jumped and he opened his eyes. "Parker?"

"I wanna go now." She murmured as her eyes closed.

"I had the weirdest dream." He stood.

"It wouldn't be a dream. It was Tommy…Help me up." He bent down and
slowly reached out to touch her. "He won't shock you." He put his arms
under her and lifted her up.

"Thomas spoke to me. He said 'you stayed with her when you could've
left and you defended her so you're a friend. Now wake up she wants
you'." Danny carried her down the narrow stairs, then down the
staircase and into the living room. He sat her on the arm of the couch.

"Hand me your phone."

"But you said…"

"That was last night. We need to phone Broots to come and get us. I
can't walk back and you can't carry me." He handed her his cell.

"Broots here."

"Broots…"

"Miss Parker! Where are you? I'm at the house with Sydney and Jarod."

"I want you to drive to Tommy's. Don't tell Sydney or Jarod. You know
where it is?"

"I know. Are you OK? Is Mr Cox with you?"

"Danny's here…"

"Miss Parker?" He asked when her voice just stopped. "Parker? You still
there?"

Cox caught her as she fell. He gently laid her out on the floor. He
picked up the phone that had dropped. "Broots get over here now!"

"Yes Sir." He closed the phone and walked to the door.

"Where are they?" Sydney asked. Broots just ignored him and left.

"I don't think we're very popular." Jarod said.

GATES RESIDENCE.

Broots pulled up outside. He ran up to the front door. He opened it and
walked in. He saw Cox picking Parker up. "Parker!" Broots rushes over
to them.

"Careful, you might get a shock."

"Huh?"

"Thomas is here."

"But he's…"

"It's a long story but we need to get her home." Cox walked to the door
with Parker's resting form in his arms.

"Will she be all right?" Broots asked as he opened the front door. This
house was starting to freak him out. He just wanted to go.

"Yeah."

PARKER MANOR:
7:30A.M.

Broots walked up and opened the door. Cox walked in with Parker still
in his arms. Jarod looked up. "Parker!" He got up and ran over to her.
Suddenly he flew backwards. "Cox!" He yelled when he slowly got up.

"I didn't do it!" He growled.

"Parker couldn't have done it." He stood up straight and held his arm.

She stirred and opened her eyes. Danny rested her back on her feet.
"Don't be so sure." She growled, her tiger-eyes flaming dangerously.

"Now Parker…"

"Enough!" She thundered. Both Sydney and Jarod flinched, but Danny and
Broots were very calm since they weren't facing her fury. Danny knew
that it was also Thomas.

"I'm sorry about what I said…" Jarod started to say but she cut him
off.

"No you're not, but you will be. And so will you." She looked at
Sydney.

"Parker!"

"Is that an argument?" No answer. "Thought not. You two are spineless.
You only argue when it's in your favour but now the tables have turned
you're a quivering wreak." They saw her close her eyes and turn her
head to the side.

"Parker listen to Thomas." Jarod said gently.

She smiled evilly and opened her eyes. "Oh but I am. He's not very
happy with you two for hurting his tiger-eyed angel."

"We didn't hurt you!" Sydney growled. Parker lifted her hand and made a
tight fist. Sydney gripped his neck, trying to get the invisible force
off his throat.

With her attentions focused on Sydney, she didn't notice Jarod until
his hand collided with her face. SLAP! Her head turned sharply to the
side and hung there. "I'm sorry, but I couldn't let you kill Sydney."
Sydney started coughing and collapsed into the armchair.

"I wouldn't have done that." Danny said from behind Parker.

She lifted her head. The side of her face had Jarod's handprint.
"You've made my boy angry." She snarled.

"Thomas was never this angry."

"That's before he was killed!" She yelled.

"Is it your anger or his?"

"Makes no difference. We are one!" She snarled. "And you've made one
too many mistakes!" She flicked her wrist effortlessly and sent him
flying, smashing him against the wall with a wet SMACK! He crumbled to
the floor unconscious.

"Parker, please…" Sydney pleaded.

"Syd…" She held her head. "Tommy, please no more…" Her knees buckled
and she fell unconscious. Danny lunged forward and caught her, lifting
her into his arms.

"Where can I lay her out?" Danny asked.

"Her bedrooms upstairs." Sydney said as he walked over to Jarod.

"Is he OK?"

"Yeah." Danny walked towards the stairs.

PARKER MANOR:
2 DAYS LATER:
8:30P.M.

Parker opened her eyes and looked around slowly. The air was thick and
heavy around her. She smiled. "I'm OK, don't worry." She got off the
bed and walked into the bathroom.

She came downstairs in fresh jeans and thin cotton, sky blue jumper.
She saw Danny asleep on the couch. She took the afghan off the back of
the couch and placed it over him. She walked into the kitchen and out
the back door, sitting on the back step in the cool night air.
"Parker?" Broots asked nervously.

"Yeah?"

He sat next to her. "How you feeling?"

"OK. Where is everyone?"

"Around. We were getting worried about you. You didn't seem to wanna
wake up."

"Tommy must have wanted me to sleep." Parker stood up. "Let's go find
them."

"Do you remember what happened?"

"Unfortunately. But I'll take responsibility for Tommy's actions."

"Parker, you can't blame yourself."

"If it wasn't for me Jarod wouldn't have been thrown across the room
and Sydney getting choked. I should have controlled my anger. I should
have let everything slide instead of letting Tommy know they hurt."

"They can't blame you. They had it coming and if Thomas knows you as
well as you think, you wouldn't have been able to fool him." He placed
a gentle hand on her shoulder.

"I wouldn't be surprised if they do." She smiled sadly.

"You're eyes aren't blue." He said gently. She closes her eyes. A few
seconds later when she opened her eyes they were blue again. "Why do
they change?"

"Tommy." She smiled. "Come on, we'll go find the others." They walked
through the living room and out the front door. She walked round the
porch.

"Parker." She turned back. "They're back inside." She walked back to
the door and inside. Jarod and Sydney had just sat down.

"Hey."

"Parker!" Jarod jumped up.

"Relax, I'm not gonna do anything. How's your arm?"

"A little sore, but OK."

"That's good." Her eyes change to tigers. Jarod shares a look with
Sydney. 'It's gonna happen again.' He thought and once again he wanted
to run. "Tommy's sorry. He was angry because what you said hurt, he
won't do it again as long as you don't say anything painful." She
smiled at them.

"I'm sorry too, I said too much." He smiles back at her. Broots shot a
look at Sydney.

"Parker." She looked at him. "I said too much that was uncalled for…"

"And?"

"I'm sorry."

She smiled warmly at him. "That's OK. Just don't do it again, been
Tommy's go-between is exhausting." She smiled evilly, looking at Danny.
"I think it's time for a wake up call." She held out her hand. The
cushion came flying up.

"Parker."

"What?"

"Don't."

"I'm only gonna rest it on his face. I won't kill him." She floated the
cushion to sit on his face.

He jumped. "Huh?" He sent the cushion flying. She stopped it before it
broke something and rested it back in the armchair.

"OOPS." She smiled.

"Why you…" He glared at her and stood up.

"You wouldn't hurt me."

"Don't be so sure."

"Remember what happened before? If Tommy thinks you're gonna hurt me
he'll kill you." She said as she backed away.

"He won't think that. Remember he said I'm a friend?"

"Oh shit!" She bolted.

"Oh goody, I get to play with The Huntress." Danny ran out after her.

"Great." Jarod shook his head. It would only be a matter of time until
he was a casualty.

Somehow Danny was able to corner her against an old tree. He had his
hands either side of her shoulders. They were both laughing. "The
possibilities. Now I've caught you I don't know what to do."

"Well think of something before I send you flying." She smiled.

Their moods slowly went serious. They restrained themselves from
laughing slowly. He lifted his hand and gently touched her neck. "I'm
thinking of something."

"I'm just about to send you flying." He gently tilted her head up. He
brushed his lips over her cheek. When she didn't push him away he took
a small step towards her. She lifted her arms and loosely put them
around his neck as he rested his hands on her hips and brushed his lips
over hers.

The tiger-eyes came back. "Those are the most beautiful and strange
eyes I have ever seen." He said gently.

"That's saying something." He kissed her again.

"Your OK with what we're doing?"

"If I wasn't, do you think I would let you be this close to me? Or
Tommy? He gets over protective sometimes but he seems to like you."

"Maybe he just knows I'm gonna take good care of his tiger-eyed angel."
He pulled her closer as he spoke.

"That's probably it." She kissed him again as she tightened her grip
around his neck.

He started to kiss down her throat. "Maybe…We…Should…Go…Back…
Suspicion."

She lifted his head and gently kissed him. "When we do, keep a
distance. They'll be getting nosy and if Jarod knew he would have a
field day."

"Who said we were gonna tell anyone?" He smiled, his eyes twinkling in
the moonlight.

"I don't know, but I love secrets." She purred.

"That place is full of them."

"But this will be our little secret." She ran her finger across his
lips.

"Yeah." He kissed her finger. "Come on, we better go."

"Pity." She whispered. He pulled her close and kissed her deeply. He
held her so tightly it was hard to breathe.

"We better go back." When they broke off the kiss they were both out of
breath.

"Yeah." Her arms slowly snaked round his neck and let him go.

"What about your eyes?"

"They'll go back when they're ready. They change for no reason so it
won't matter."

Danny walked in first, followed by Parker. Jarod stood up. "So who
won?" He asked.

They looked at each other. Danny started laughing. "Lets' just say it
was a tie." Parker smiled and walked over to the couch, sitting down.

Jarod looked at them with a question eye, slowly sitting down in the
armchair. 'Something's going on and it's right under my nose.'

"Now what were we talking about before Danny thought it was necessary
to play with The Huntress?" She snarled. A sly grin spread across his
face.

Jarod glared at Danny. 'If he's done anything I'm gonna beat his arse.'

"Earth to Jarod. Hey!" She barked sharply

"What?"

"What's the plan gonna be? I don't like your idea and you don't like
mine, so we have to think of another."

"You wanna handle this yourself but I don't want you to shoot
everyone…"

"Oh and I promised Parker that we'd look for answers about Thomas."
Danny said.

"You know what the odds are we won't find anything?"

"I know, but Tommy's telling my to look. It might take away some of his
anger if he knew who ordered it and why. It would make me feel better
to know who and why as well."

"All right, we'll corner someone and Thomas can go for the jugular."
She smiled sadly and nodded.

PARKER MANOR:
10:40P.M.

They had been discussing a plan, which they now have. "I'll deal with
Daddy alone."

"But Parker…"

"Don't but Parker me! I can deal with Daddy. I have Tommy with me and
if anything happens I'll just send him flying."

"All right it's getting late and we've got an early start tomorrow."
Jarod said, standing up.

"Yeah, we should be going as well." Both Sydney and Broots stood up.

Jarod was glaring at Cox. "I should go too, I've got some papers that
need to be done by the morning."

'Damnit Jarod can't you leave anything alone?' [Angel, leave the back
door unlocked. Danny wants to tell you he'll be back but he can't] 'All
right.' She walked over to the front door and opened it.

"Night Parker."

"Night Parker."

"Syd." He stopped and turned to face her. "I'm sorry."

"Don't worry, I'm OK and I know now that I have to watch my step. I did
go too far." He and Broots walked down to the car.

"After you Danny." Jarod growled.

"What the hell is with you Jarod? You've been glaring at Danny all
night."

"Nothing." Cox left. Jarod walked out after him. Parker shut and locked
the door.

She let out a shuddering sigh. "Does he know?"

[No but he knows he's onto something. You and Danny will have to watch
him]

"Great." She laid down on the couch. She lifted her hand and snapped
her fingers. The lights turned off only to leave the lamps on.

[What about the door?]

"It's unlocked." She slowly closes her eyes.

[Is my tiger-eyed Baby getting tired?]

"Yes."

[Then go to sleep]

PARKER MANOR:

Danny crept back into the house and found her asleep on the couch. He
walked over to her and knelt down. He reached out and gently stroked
her head. "Parker, wake up." She groaned and slowly opened her eyes.
"Do you wanna go to your room?"

"Yeah."

"Come on." He put his arms under her and lifted her up. He headed for
the stairs.

He laid her on the bed. She grabbed his hand. When he looked down at
her, her eyes were opened and she was looking at him and smiling. "And
what are you looking at?"

"Nothing." She sat up, pulling him down to sit next to her. She gently
stroked his face. He put his arms around her waist and kissed her. She
put her hands either side of his neck and deepened the kiss, falling
back on the bed, pulling him back with her.

PARKER MANOR:
THE NEXT MORNING.

Danny was lying on his side behind Parker's back gently stroking her
shoulder where a small scar was. She was beautiful when she was awake
but sleeping she was stunning. She stirred and turned her head to the
side. "Danny?"

"Yes?"

"Nothing." She turned her head back down.

"What happened on your back?" He asked as he touched the scar.

"That would be the latest gift from Daddy." She said gently. She smiled
when she felt him kiss her shoulder softly.

"This the one that nearly killed you?" He asked as he brushed his lips
across her shoulder.

She rolled onto her back and looked at him, holding the blankets around
her. "How'd you find out about that?"

"The Triumvirate. Before I came Matumbo was keeping me posted on what
was happening at The Centre, I know about every bullet that was fired
into you." He ran his finger across her collarbone.

"They all nearly killed me. That one was the one after my ulcer, which
was before Tommy was killed." She turned her head away from him.

He touched her chin and pulled her face back to look at him. "I'll
start looking around for the reason why he was killed." He said gently.

"Jarod's right. We won't find anything. It's been too long." She holds
his hand and pulls it away from her chin.

"We'll find something, don't worry." He gently kissed her forehead.

THE CENTRE:
3 DAYS LATER.

Parker was sitting in her office when Broots walked in with a file.
"What is it Broots?" She growled. When she saw the painful look on his
face she started to get a weird sensation in her stomach. "Broots?"

"Mr Cox told me to give this to you." He handed her the file.

"What is it?"

"He told me not to read it." Broots walked to do the door.

"Did you read it?" She asked.

"Unfortunately." He left.

She opened it. There was a white sheet of paper with The Centre header
on the top. It had Danny's handwriting.

Your father killed Thomas. Matumbo gave me authorisation codes. Ask
him.
I'm sorry. Danny.

"He's dead!" She snarled and ran out the door. Broots and Sydney were
standing down the hall and saw her run out. They shared a look and
walked after her, keeping their distance.

She stormed into her father's office. "Angel?"

"You make me sick! You killed him and you lied to me!" She snarled.

"Now Honey..." He stood up, pressing a small button under his desk.

"Don't now Honey me! You kill him! Why?"

"That's all in the past."

"WHY?" She yelled.

"He wasn't worthy of you."

"That's no reason to kill him!"

"I paid him to leave but he wouldn't go. So I used him for bait. I did
it all for you Angel, I just wanted you to be happy."

"I was happy! I was!" She screamed at him and ran over to him, wrapping
her hands around his throat. He saw her eyes change to tigers and was
suddenly afraid. "You had to step in and fuck up my life. But Daddy,
he's part of me now!" She whispered dangerously to him.

He tried to get her hands off but he couldn't, she was too strong. "Get
her off!" He ordered to the sweepers that walked in the door. They
grabbed her arms and pulled her off. She started fighting but they
twisted her arms behind her back. "Take her away."

She stopped fighting and stood perfectly still. Her eyes tiger-eyes
blazing against his pale blue. She smiled evilly. "Good Bye Daddy." She
whispered and snapped her fingers from behind her back. CRACK! Mr
Parker's head turned sharply to the side he then fell in a heap on the
floor.

"Release her!" Cox ordered when he came in.

"But Mr Parker said…"

"He's dead you fool and if you don't let her go, so will you." He
growled. They let go of her. She turned round and looked at them with
blazing eyes. They started to back away from her. "It's OK now Parker,
it's over." He gently touched her arm. She slapped his hand away and
walked out the door.

Cox walked over and checked his pulse. "May you burn in hell." He said
and stood up. "Get someone in here to get him outta here."

"Yes Mr Cox." He walked out of the office. He saw Sydney and Broots in
the hallway. "Where'd Parker go?"

"Down to the elevator. But maybe you should let her be for a little
while." Sydney said softly. He nodded. They walked down to the
elevator.

THE CENTRE:
2 DAYS LATER.

Sydney and Broots walked into Parker's office where Lyle and Cox were.
"Have you two seen my sister?"

"No Mr Lyle. We were just coming here to make sure she's all right. We
haven't heard anything for the last two days." Sydney said.

"I'll search around for her." Cox walked out the door.

"You two are to tell me the MOMENT she calls in." Lyle ordered and
left.

"This can't be good." Broots said as he and Sydney left the office.

"No, she probably just wants some time by herself. You know how Parker
gets and she's got Thomas with her so nothing will happen."

"Unless she does it herself."

"Parker isn't the type for suicide." Sydney said as Broots sat down in
front of the computer.

"Everyone has it in them for suicide. But with everything that's gone
on in the last couple of weeks could have pushed her over the edge. I'm
not saying Parker couldn't take care of herself but everyone has their
limits and I'm just worried if she hasn't reached hers."

"I know Broots but Thomas would be able to talk her out of it and if
not control her."

RING. RING.

"Broots."

"Where's Parker? I've been trying to ring her and no answer."

"Jarod, Parker found out Mr Parker killed Thomas. She just wants to be
left alone for a little while."

"So the search is over."

"Yeah, but I don't know how Parker's taking it. No one's seen her for
two days."

"All right Syd, I'll look into it." Jarod hung up.

"This is gonna get ugly if people find her and she just wants to be
left alone. She broke her father's neck without…" He saw the look on
Sydney's face. "A problem, what will she do when she gets cornered?" He
quickly changed his sentence.

"I don't wanna think about it."

GATES RESIDENCE:
10A.M.

Cox pulled up at Tommy's house and he could see the back of Parker's
car poking out of the shrub. "Predictable." He smiled and got out of
his car.

When he tried to open the door it wouldn't budge. It wasn't locked it
just wouldn't open. "Thomas open this door. I just wanna make sure
she's all right." When the door didn't open he let go. He sat down on
the porch step and waited.

After a few hours of sitting on the front porch, Danny sees another car
pull up. He stands up and walks to the edge of the steps. He saw Jarod
get out of the car and run towards the house. "What the hell are you
doing here?"

"I've come to see Parker. I just wanna make sure she's all right."
Jarod said, looking up at Cox with angry eyes. "How could you let her
do that?"

"I didn't know she was gonna kill him." He lied. "You won't be able to
go inside cause Thomas is keeping the door locked."

Jarod walked over and tried to open the door but he got an electric
shock as soon as he touched the door. "Ow."

"Told ya." Danny smiled as he sat down and waited. Jarod sat next to
the door, with his back against the wall.

When Tommy finally unlocked the door and let Danny in, he runs upstairs
to the attic. But she's not there. He comes down onto the second floor
and starts looking.

He finds her in the bedroom, lying on the bed on her side, curled up
slightly. "Parker?" he walks over to her quietly. "You OK?"

"No."

"What's wrong?"

"It hurts." He knelt next to her, gently touching her hand. "I thought
if I came here Tommy would make it stop hurting, but he can't. I wanna
stay here thou."

"All right, I won't move you."

Jarod stood at the doorway watching. [Angel, look at the door]

She lifted her head and looked at the door. "ARSEHOLE!" she sprung from
the bed and wrapped her hands around his throat and choked him. "IT'S
ALL YOUR FAULT! I'M GONNA KILL YOU, YOU SON OF A BITCH!"

"Kat, let go!" He said hoarsely. He could see black spots dancing in
front of his eyes.

"Parker, let him go! Talk first then kill him." Danny said walking over
cautiously.

"TOMMY WANTS HIM DEAD!" She screamed.

Jarod got hold of her hand and spun her around having her arms crossed
in front of her. "Now…"

"LET GO OF ME! YOU MAKE MY SKIN CRAWL! I HATE YOU! I WANT YOU DEAD!"
She yelled.

Danny walked over and gently touched her face. "What's he done?"

"LET GO!" She started to trash around. But Jarod stopped her from
moving by holding her tightly.

"What's he done?" He asked again.

"Daddy killed Tommy for bait." She whimpered and hung her head down.
"If Jarod was at The Centre Tommy would be alive. He was murdered so
Jarod would come back to Blue Cove and get caught." She kicked Jarod
with the heel of her boot hard.

"Shit!" He let go of her quickly, holding his knee. She walked away
from them and sat on the bed.

"It's all his fault." She hung her head down and cried. They could feel
the air go thick and heavy around them. It was getting hard to breathe.

"Parker I…I didn't know."

"Don't give me that shit! Why do you think Brigitte had Tommy's phone
tapped? They knew you were friends so they killed him to get to you!
They used us to get to you! So don't you DARE say it wasn't your fault,
DON'T YOU DARE!" She snarled. "Even if I am a Parker they still fucked
with us!"

Danny walked over and knelt in front of her. "How about you go home?"

"I'm staying with Tommy."

He gently took her hands in his. "OK, just try and get some sleep.
We'll be outside." He stood up and kissed her forehead. "Come on
Jarod."

"No."

"We're going to leave her in peace and that's final." He snarled.

Jarod watched Parker lie down on her side, with her back to them.
"Fine."

They walked downstairs and outside. "What's going on between you two?"

"None of your God damn business!"

"Parker is my business."

"I'm picking up the pieces you just shattered!" He growled. "And if you
took the hint that Thomas was taking care of her he would be alive now
and I wouldn't have to be picking up pieces to try and put her back
together!"

"Who the hell do you think you are?"

"Someone putting their foot down on you jerking her strings! She won't
dance for you anymore!"

Jarod smiled. "You just messing with me. She doesn't like you that
way."

"Oh and you think she's madly in love with you? Give me a break! If you
would pull your head out of your arse long enough you would realise
that she just tried to strangle you." Danny snarled.

Upstairs, Tommy was whispering to her soothingly. She couldn't make out
any words but it was soothing just to hear his voice. Suddenly a
thought hit her. She smiled evilly. [You're not gonna do anything
drastic are you?]

"No." She got off the bed and walked into the bathroom to freshen up.

When she came back downstairs she saw Danny outside on the porch. She
walked over to him. "Hey."

"Where's Jarod?" She asked, looking around.

"I'm here." He spoke from behind her.

"Come here a minute."

"Why?"

"Just come here." He stayed still. "Fine, we do this the hard way." She
walked over to him. He tried to step away but he couldn't move. His
hands moved behind his back.

"Hey what're you doing?" He exclaimed when he heard and felt handcuffs.

"Taking you back. You're the reason Tommy was killed, so I'm giving the
bastards what they want." She shoved him forward.

"Parker, maybe you should think about this."

"I have, Tommy agrees. He will get everything he deserves 10-fold."

"Parker please…"

"Did Tommy get to beg for his life? I don't know. He can't remember
what happened. Why should you get to have something he NEVER got? You
have a chance which is MORE than he got and which is more than you
deserve!" She hissed. "What Lyle is gonna do to you is nothing to what
I felt inside after they tore Tommy away from me!" She was crying now.

"Parker…"

"Shut up!" Danny was silent. "Time to go back home, Lab Rat." He walked
him down to her car.

THE CENTRE.

Parker stormed into Lyle's office, which was her father's, shoving
Jarod in front of her. Lyle looked up with a shocked face. "The hunt is
over." She snarled holding her head high.

"Parker…I'm speechless."

"Well you could say 'well done, I knew you could do it. Daddy was
wrong'. That would be nice to hear after all the shit he's put me
through."

"Dad WAS wrong and you HAVE done well. But I don't think I'll be
underestimating you again."

"Good." Lyle picked up the phone. "Sam, assemble a team and get to my
office. Also organise a SEALED cell." He put the phone down and walked
over to them. "Tsk, tsk, tsk. How dumb are you?"

"I don't know. Tell me how dumb you are and I'll figure it out." Parker
slapped Jarod's face. CRACK!

"I'm glad you're my sister. Not even a scratch on him."

Danny, Sydney and Broots walked in. "Glad you could join our reunion."
She hissed angrily.

Sydney had a composed face, but Parker could see anger in his eyes.
"Parker…Congratulations." He said quietly.

Sam and four sweepers walked in. "Take our prized Lab Rat down to his
new home and make sure it's secure, Matumbo will want him A/S/A/P."

"Yes Mr Lyle."

"I'll make you pay Parker! You two faced bitch!" Sam punched him in the
stomach. He doubled over in agony.

"You can't come anywhere near me, even then only when I let you, so how
can you?" She growled. Everyone was confused all except Danny, Sydney
and Broots.

"Take him away." Sam and then other sweepers escorted Jarod down to his
new home.

"Now if you don't mind Brother Dear, I'm going home for a little
while."

"Sure, but don't disappear on me. Matumbo will want to see The Centre's
Huntress."

"I'm not going anywhere. I want to see that jerk suffer." She smiled
sweetly and walked out the door with Sydney, Broots and Danny following
her.

"Parker, how could you?"

"Sydney, go play with the freaks down on SL-4, just don't bother me
with your petty problems."

Danny got into the elevator with her. "Parker, what are you doing?"

"My job." She went to step out of the elevator but he stood in her way.
"I would move Cox, you don't wanna play with me!" the tiger-eyes shown
through. He stepped out of her way. "Thank you." Her eyes changed back
and walked away.

"What had gotten into you?" He mumbled to himself as he watched her
walk away.

THE CENTRE:
LYLE'S OFFICE (DP's OFFICE):
3:40P.M.

"See what I can do when people get off my back?" She asked Matumbo as
they sat in the office.

"I am very pleased with your results of the recapture of Jarod. Your
loyalty was uncertain but we now know it was all without proof. But how
did you catch him, alone and without using any of The Centre's
resources?"

"He made the mistake of calling on me when I was in a foul mood."

"And what about Mr Parker?" Matumbo was fascinated by her. She has her
father's mind but her mother's looks with her mother's reason. 'A good
mixture.' He thought. 'No wonder people find her a threat.'

"I broke his neck." She said calmly. 'He's not so fucking scary.' She
thought to herself.

"How? There weren't any bruises."

"Do you really want me to tell you?" she asked.

"I would like to know."

"Send Raines in, I'll give you a demo."

He pressed the intercom button. "Send Mr Raines in."

Parker stood up and buttoned her long black coat. Raines walked in.
"You wanted me, Sir?"

"Yes." Matumbo sat back in the chair, looking at the two of them.

"Ready?"

"Go." He nodded.

'This is for killing my mother you son of a bitch.' She thought. She
lifted her hand and snapped her fingers. A loud, wet snap was heard and
Raines' head turned to the side sharply. He fell to the fall with a
loud clatter from his oxygen tank. Parker turned back to face Matumbo.
Her tiger-eyes blazing.

"Good. Now I know where to come when I want a clean assassin." He
smiled.

"I don't kill for the hell of it. Daddy killed someone I loved and
Raines cold-bloodedly murdered my mother."

"I wouldn't expect you to kill for no reason."

"Good." She walked out the door.

Lyle walked in and stopped when he saw Raines' body on the floor. He
looked at Matumbo then out the door. "Why couldn't I watch?"

"All right, next time she kills you can watch. Now come in I want a
word with you…" Lyle shut the door and walked over and sat in the chair
in front of the desk.

"Yes?"

"I want you to…"

THE CENTRE:
THE NEXT MORNING:
11:45A.M.

Parker was sitting in her office doing paperwork when Danny walked in.
She looked up from the papers. "If you've come to lecture me, you can
just get out!"

"I'm not gonna lecture you, I just wanna talk." He sat on the corner of
her desk. "You OK?"

"Fine."

"What about Jarod?"

"I don't care." He held her hand and made her stand up. She stepped in
front of him. He stood and put his arms around her waist.

"What are you up to?"

"Nothing."

He slowly let his hand glide round her back to her hip, then down her
leg to the hem of her small, black shorts. "You sure you're OK?"

She gently kissed him. "Answer your question?"

"Not really." He gently stroked her leg. She wrapped her arms around
his neck loosely and kissed him. He pulled her closer and deepened the
kiss.

"Sis…OOPS, sorry." Lyle walked in on them.

They pulled away. Parker stepped out of Danny's grasp and looked at her
brother. "What's on your mind Bro?"

"I was just wanting to know, do you wanna have lunch with me, then sit
through a T-Board meeting as my new left-hand man. But I see you're
occupied with Cox."

"No, we can finish talking later. But I have to sit next to Baby
Brother now don't I?"

"Great. I need to tell you something over lunch, it'd only be a
sandwich job since the meeting is at 1."

"Fine."

"OK, I'll be back at 12." He left.

THE PARK:
12:20P.M.

Lyle and Parker were walking as they ate. "So what's up?"

"Matumbo spoke with me about the deal you had with Dad about leaving
after Jarod was brought back. He just wants to know if you're still
considering it? Cause he has an offer for you." He asked as he took a
bite out of his sandwich.

"I've rejected Daddy's offer. Jarod's back and I wanna stay and watch
the jerk suffer."

"I heard about what Dad did. I'm sorry."

"Thanks."

"You're not gonna break my neck with a snap of your fingers are you?"

"If I did you wouldn't be walking with me now. But a warning you try
and fuck with me like Daddy did I won't hesitate in killing you." She
said seriously.

"I won't."

"What's Matumbo's offer?"

"He wants you to be in charge of all sweepers, cleaners and assassins."

"The only reason why I'm a clean assassin is because of the
telekinesis."

"What's it like?"

"It's freaking frightening. I can do what I want from a snap of my
fingers."

"What about Matumbo's offer?"

"Deal. But I wanna be in charge of tracking down any lost property.
After Matumbo had reeducated Jarod he'll be quite useful."

"Great." He looked at his watch. "We better be getting back."

THE CENTRE:
2 DAYS LATER.

It's the day Jarod will be going back to Africa. D-Day.

Parker was walking out of her office when out of nowhere Jarod slammed
her against the wall. She started laughing. "Is our boy angry about
something?"

"How could you? You brought me back and let them torture me."

"Very easily." She smiled. Her tiger-eyes shining through. "Do you know
how dangerous this is? I can hurt you with a snap of my fingers." She
snarled. He linked her fingers through hers and held her hands either
side of her head. "Angelus would not approve." She smiled evilly, her
eyes flaming brighter.

"I don't care. Why did you do it?" He growled angrily. "You let them do
that to me."

"Split up! He can't have gotten far!"

"Oh Sam, I think you've lost something." She called out.

Sam stepped through the doors. "Hey, Jim, Jake, Steve." One quick
movement she shoved him away. Not that he loosened his grip, but
because she was tired of the game she was playing.

"Do you think you could beat me? I let you near me, if I didn't, you'd
be unconscious right about now and on a jet."

"This isn't over Parker."

"Oh, I'm just getting started!" She growled.

He left with Jake, Jim and Steve following him. "Are you all right Miss
Parker?"

"Just fine Sam."

"But your eyes." He said gently.

"There is nothing wrong with my eyes." He nodded and left. She sat back
in her chair. "One step at a time." She waved her first two fingers on
her left hand from right to left. Her office doors shut. "You'll
understand soon Jarod." She turned her back to the door and looked out
the window.
